SMB1 - unused levels?
I remember there being some actual playable, unused levels from worlds 9-D in this as well, accessible via only a Gameshark code. I'll look back into this soon (conditions permitting) if nobody else pokes at it first. There MIGHT have been unused YvB levels as well, but I'm running off 10-year-old memories here. --Bloodstar 08:34, 27 April 2010 (EDT)
- I know there were (See Notes:Super Mario Bros. Deluxe). Bouche posted about some of the LostLevels ones, but not any YvB. Feel free to look it up for me. --Xkeeper 08:35, 27 April 2010 (EDT)
"More serious" and what-not
Was the prior version of this page really so bad? "Lost Lost Levels Levels" made me laugh, at least. :P --Nicole 15:10, 29 May 2012 (EDT)
- Many of the old pages are amusing like that, but I think we should strive for just a bit of professionality. I mean, we are mature, aren't we? -- Sheeza 15:25, 29 May 2012 (EDT)
- Humor isn't inherently immature. --Devin 15:29, 29 May 2012 (EDT)
- Since when does this site need to be "professional?" It's about digging unused crap out of video games, and there's nothing serious about that. One of the things I really liked about this place in the beginning was that it had a very laid-back atmosphere, and the articles were fun to read even if you had never heard of the games they were about. It seems like there's been a trend toward making things more rote and "serious" for a while now, and it's turned me off from the site a lot. I understand that not everyone writes COMEDY GOLD pages, but I think editing someone else's article for the express purpose of removing jokes is excessive. Supper 20:47, 29 May 2012 (EDT)
- Important part bolded by me. This is very very bad and it needs to stop. --BMF54123 22:35, 29 May 2012 (EDT)
- Agreed. Don't edit articles just to remove the jokes. If they're not hurting anything, don't take them out. We're not Wikipedia for God's sake (and we have no intention of being such). -- Rick 22:17, 29 May 2012 (EDT)
Ranks
In the Japan version, the ranks mention "Pakkun", Which is the name for Piranha Plants. This replaces Toad, or "Kinopio". UnusedAccident
Mario Bros. sound effects
Modifying DE60 plays a sound effect. Values 4F to 5A are based on sound effects from Mario Bros. Are they used? Torchickens (talk) 11:14, 20 February 2014 (EST)
- Some of them, but not all of them. I can't right now, so you should probably listed through them again more carefully and try out all the modes (VS Game, You VS Boo, Challenge, Toybox). --Hiccup (talk) 13:27, 20 February 2014 (EST)
- OK, I did that and only recognized one, thanks. 'Some' is a bit vague. When you can, would you mind saying which ones you recognize, please? I notice that 4F is definitely used for falling Cheep Cheep. I have a gut feeling that I may have heard 53 before too (though I have no proof and I also have a feeling I may have made that up) and 5A may be for one of the musical note codes used for before the title screen. GBC only message codes
@nensondubois: I entered them on VBA re-recording and they apparently don't work. Am I entering the wrong value? What values do work? I also assume that you mean the "This Game Pak will work only with the Game Boy (R) Color video game system" message. Torchickens (talk) 13:06, 22 February 2014 (EST)
- Never mind, it worked after I reset the game. Torchickens (talk) 13:18, 22 February 2014 (EST)
- 62 is when the music values start. There are still a few issues because Nintendo quickly hacked code to play audio at this screen. -nensondubois (talk) 13:37, 22 February 2014 (EST)
Album images are impossible to get from killing all Bowser imposters and Bowser in the Japanese version?
It is impossible to get the album images from killing all Bowser imposters and Bowser in the Japanese version, I can get them in the International versions though. --Mario3264 (talk) 22:09, 1 August 2018 (PDT)
