.dat format

Just want to mention that there is a tool out there that can extract Smash Melee's and Kirby's Air Ride .dat files, maybe this can be used here as well, considering it was also made by HAL? Gabrielwoj (talk) 17:25, 10 August 2021 (UTC)

Link to the tool? I know they use a format called sysdolphin. Larsenv (talk) 18:54, 10 August 2021 (UTC)
Here: https://smashboards.com/threads/dat-texture-wizard-current-version-6-1-2.373777/. It doesn't mention Kirby Air Ride in the thread, but I remember opening some files from Kirby using the program, as well Melee's. Gabrielwoj (talk) 20:11, 10 August 2021 (UTC)
I tried extracting the .dat files today using the program, it did not work. One thing we could try doing is replacing an USED file with the Dummy ones, and see if they are interesting by looking at them in-game (replacing something obvious like the title-screen or something), and use Dolphin's texture dump option (for the meantime until a proper way to extract the .dats are available).
