True Skewer

In "True Skewer", I think the "spicy tuna rolls" in the Japanese version are actually Konjac, which is a commonly used ingredient used in food such as oden. --Gilbert (talk) 09:57, 6 January 2014 (EST)

Translating the game's name in the Japanese version reveals that it actually is konjac! Good catch there. I was initially confused as to what it could be, so I checked online (Mariowiki) without actually translating the name first; I'll have to learn to check the actual game first, rather than rely on other sources. Banjo

In the music editor, one of the instruments is referred to as a "banjo" in the version I have, but it looks and sounds to me more like a shamisen. I suspect it was renamed from "shamisen" to something similar that would be more familiar to international audiences. Version Exclusive Comics

I checked it today on my 3DS. It actually is used for the "mix all" sections, or at least I'm almost certain it's the same track. I think the other ones are from the Wii version (judging by comments)? The last one seems to suggest that there were plans for an editor on the Wii. DIY Showcase does not show the name of the boss microgames when you're playing them. Also, they each have a unique cartridge, description, and preview picture just like the DS boss microgames, and again, you can never see them. I was actually holding off DIY Showcase information because I wasn't sure if we needed to make a new article for this information or if we were going to put it on the existing page. By the way, what DIY Showcase version are you using? Someone already extracted the boss microgames from the game's WAD, which I assume was NTSC, and the names I'm getting for the microgames are, in order: "Bombs Away", "Picket Ship", "Caterpillage", and "Dustpan". --Goomther (talk) 00:51, 5 May 2014 (EDT)
Chiritorie is the game that 18-Volt's Boss game is based on, I believe, and it's been referred to in previous WarioWare games (mostly Mega Microgame$!). Other than that, I can't tell the difference. Also, in the last panel of the Giant Bug comic, a guy is seen playing the Wii, with the bug on the screen. So let's revise this:

Not sure if your talking about me or not, but I got the extracted DIY Showcase boss microgames from the same guy who coded a save editor for the DS version (CrygorTool to be exact). I'm guessing the guy above got some other version, most likely the Japanese version, for those aren't the names I'm getting when I look at the files.--Goomther (talk) 17:30, 5 May 2014 (EDT)

Just wanted to note this. What began as a quest to find out something about the comic "Similarities," I found it would be easiest to just play the entire game. I never got around to writing these down. I'm almost 100% certain that a lot of the text in this game was pretty much entirely rewritten during localization, but I'd need a Japanese speaker to confirm that. Normal text throughout the game altered for localization purposes is not typically covered, otherwise we’d have numerous pages stretching three miles long covering dialogue differences.
