SDK Mention

So basically, inside the Wii U's slc there's a folder called logs, these logs mention the Cafe OS SDK version, would it be ok to document it? --Mspeter97 (talk) 05:13, 12 August 2017 (EDT)

I'm not an admin, but there are similar things on other BIOS/Firmware pages. --Hiccup (talk) 12:51, 12 August 2017 (EDT)
Welp, gonna see if I can copy a few things without having my console's serial number (or other homebrew related stuff) show in the article then. --Mspeter97 (talk) 12:59, 12 August 2017 (EDT)

Dummy TV

My friends Wii U displayed that dummy tv screen when he booted it up. --LilShootDawg (talk) 16:20, 21 November 2017 (EST)

Do you have any way to show his/her Wii U booting to that screen, like a photo or video? --Kborb (talk) 01:05, 20 July 2018 (EDT)

N64 VC

I just noticed that in the DS VC section it mentions that the devs could select multiple ROMs. However, a friend found out a while ago that in the N64 VC, this feature still exists - simply place several ROMs inside the ROM folder and there's a menu that appears when starting the game. --Jhynjhiruu (talk) 15:05, 29 August 2018 (EDT)

The DUMMY Icon on the Black Background

https://bit.ly/38EPtmj I noticed how, in this video, the kiosk demos use the DUMMY icon as a placeholder on the Wii U Menu due to the kiosks themselves not using the standard Wii U Menu.

That doesn't make sense, as other icons there do have normal icons. Its because some of the kiosk demos (and I recall seeing this when looking through the kiosk demo data on some kiosk update discs don't have proper icons. I've added a note about the usage of the icons in kiosk demos to the page. --Hiccup (talk) 06:01, 14 December 2019 (EST)
My bad. I didn't read the video's title properly and thought that they were installing these demos on a retail Wii U. I assumed that demo units didn't use the Wii U menu from my past experience going to GameStop when the Wii U was still relevant. --Mr. binary (talk) 22:18, 19 December 2019 (EST)

URLs list notes

While the URLs listed may not be accessible, it's possible to infer their contents.

  • For example, `Small_Potatoes_Episode_2_b010pyk0` contains an episode ID for the BBC iPlayer service, which implies it was taken directly from that service.
  • The source of most videos are reasonably obvious, such as `BigBuckBunny_1080p`.
  • And some are feasible to hear the audio of but not necessarily possible to get the exact 1:1 data of, such as `audio-tron-legacy-the-grid.m4a`. (Though it's probably reasonable to assume these are the OST tracks rather than film audio, given the one following it.)
  • Some are merely reasonable to guess, i.e. that `relative-url/hit.m3u8` probably generated a playlist file to test, well, relative URLs, and others look like tests for specific features.
  • Some name specific services but not particulars, i.e. `vimeo.mp4`.

Probably not worth bothering, but might make an interesting insight into how they varied their sources they were using for testing. --20kdc (talk) 20:39, 17 August 2021 (UTC)

Should the DK Menu of the gamepad be documented here?

If you don't know, the DK menu is a menu in developer gamepads accessed by holding ZL and L and then pressing power, the menu has some system info and has a settings menu that lets you change the region of the gamepad, also I think someone should fully document the test mode since we pretty much know how to access it, all the gamepad stuff could be a subpage tho, with firmware differences and Dev stuff.
