Talk:Yoshi's Island DS
So, I was messing around with the files and found out that the "Yoshi's Island 2" title screen is actually some sort of level select.
- Right/Left controls which level you get sent to.
- R/L controls which baby you have upon entering.
- Select controls which song plays in the level.
- A, B, or Start enters the level with the specifications you have selected.
...However, you can't actually see what you have selected, for some reason. X/Y & Up/Down might have a use, or the buttons above might have an additional use. I found out the above controls with trial and error.
You can get this to load if you force the game to select a level that doesn't exist. I did this by changing the "01m0054" line in 13y0710 and starting the Speed Eating minigame. Doing this with levels that have multiple areas (1-1 for example) causes some weird effect where the order of levels you choose with the D-Pad changes - instead of chronological, it's all over the place. Revisional Differences
The graphical changes that were done in the Japanese and Korean releases are not there in the 1.1 releases. Neither is the new or changed audio.
Speedrunners have trouble performing a glitch involving unlimited keys on the Wii U version - I remember reading at one time that the Wii U Virtual Console releases were version 1.1, (I can't seem to find it again, but it makes sense.) Said glitch is "supposed to be easy" on the DS versions that they have.
So, it seems to me that the 1.1 releases were just for bug fixes. Or maybe I'm just missing something. Moof (talk) 22:23, 13 June 2018 (EDT)
