So very stubbly.
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?

It's Tecmo Super Bowl, but Super-er.

Error Handler

TecmoSuperBowlSNESHandler.png
An error handler is present in the game, like the NES games, but nowhere near as detailed. The Game Genie codes 89E9-3FD7 B4E9-3F07 will bring up this error message whenever a team name would be displayed.

Sound Test

Press L + R together at the title screen to access the game's sound test. It may take a couple of tries, since you have to press both buttons at exactly the same time for it to work.

Debug Mode

Hmmm...
To do:
Document this better, and see if it's possible to get it working without the graphical and sound problems
Tsb-debug.png

Using the code 81816AE0 replaces the normal sound test with this fairly extensive debug mode, allowing you to view the game's cutscenes, backgrounds, sprites, and animations, as well as containing another sound test.

As it is, the debug mode has a fair share of graphical glitches, and the sound test is problematic as well, often playing no music or loading the wrong samples. It's currently unknown if there is a way to access the menu that works better. There is no code left in any version of the game that leads directly to this menu; it's possible that it was only meant for use with earlier builds of the game.

Old Options Menu

An old options menu is still in the game. It can be accessed by using the Game Genie codes 8461-1400 6061-1460 6F61-14A0. This replaces the Sound Test.

Unfortunately, most of the menu text is no longer in the game, so the main menu is blank but for a simple cursor. The options also don't actually do anything - the variables it manipulates aren't called anywhere else in the game.

There are three options. The third one exits the menu.

The first option is an old Weather menu. The final menu for manipulating weather appears before starting a game.

The second option leads to a menu for...something. There are two options that can be turned on and off, but again, they don't do anything. And since the option text isn't there either, what they're supposed to do can only be guessed at.
