The Pokémon series is well known world-wide, becoming the highest-grossing media franchise of all time. In April 2020 its humble beginnings were leaked online, showing development materials for the Pokémon Red and Blue games.
This image shows the development version of Lavender Town, with its much different design compared to the final version.
The town has a completely different layout, lacking the iconic Pokémon Tower and a lot of the houses. It looks more like a typical drive-by town, with very few houses, a minuscule convenience store, and an overgrown hotel. It also appears to have once been close to the water to the east, while in the final games this spot is mountainous.
