NiGHTS into Dreams... for the PlayStation 2 is an enhanced remake of the cult classic Saturn game. While the development team had access to the original Saturn source (written in SH-2 assembler), they didn't have access to the original graphics or movie data. Moreover, no source could be found for Christmas NiGHTs, yet they were able to recreate much of the missing material and even added a little bit.
While there are Halloween costumes for Claire and Elliot added for this version, it seems there were plans for a more elaborate Halloween theme similar to Christmas NiGHTS. This Nightopian wearing a bat costume being some of the only evidence left behind for this.
