So very stubbly.
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?

Sega's Tetris for the Mega Drive was yet another victim of the complicated licensing issues that surrounded Tetris in the late 80s and early 90s. While Tengen fought to keep its NES version on shelves, Sega opted to pull its own console version (which had been planned for release on April 15, 1989) without making too much noise, and as such physical copies are near-impossible to find. What is possible to find is the Mega-Tech release - since Sega had the Tetris licence for arcades, they brought it over to the Mega-Tech system most often seen in British arcades. A arcade port to a console brought back to arcades...

The game was eventually released as part of the Japan-only Sega Ages 2500 Series on PlayStation 2. Despite this, the version of Tetris featured on the Sega Genesis Mini in 2019 was instead a brand-new port of Sega's 16-bit arcade version.
