Spooky Castle is based on an early version of Dr. Lunatic and is something of a testing ground for that game. It was eventually released as freeware a few years later.

Dr. Lunatic Leftovers

The game is still referred to as Dr. Lunatic when the game is forced to windowed mode with the window command line argument.

Text for the level editor is still in the executable, but no level editor is seen normally without altering the executable.

Additionally, inside the graphics folder is an unused title screen for Dr. Lunatic. Seeing as this game was built on an early version of that game, it comes as no surprise this is lying in the data. Note the copyright date of 1998, as Dr. Lunatic was finished that year, but shelved until its May 2000 release. By the game's eventual release, this title screen would be discarded.
