gczel2 | Twilight Princess | Wii / GameCube | November | 2006 | dol, product code (Z2)

Zapper / ZeldaZapper / zshoot | Link's Crossbow Training | Wii | November | 2007 | dol | Also written as Zap, ZP (also in product code), zelzap | (Source: Original TCRF research)
|
DSKing2 | Spirit Tracks | NDS | December | 2009 | Partial Nintendo DS lotcheck spreadsheet, product code (KI) | Playing card. "King" implies a connection to Wind Waker - game has the same artstyle. "2" either represents this being a sequel to Phantom Hourglass, or this being a successor to Wind Waker. | (Source: Original TCRF research)
|
queen | Ocarina of Time 3D | 3DS | June | 2011 | /exefs/.code, QueenSound.bcsar, product code (QE), 3DS lotcheck sheet | Playing card. Also may reflect how revered Ocarina of Time is, and how Ocarina of Time is the "alternate" to Wind Waker ("King"). Todo: add other files with the codename. "jenkins" is used instead for the Chinese version.
Knife | Four Swords Anniversary Edition | DSiWare | September | 2011 | knife_sound.sdat, manpages.narc_us.blz, Sep 2020 leak - document filenames, DSiWare lotcheck sheet | Sword? | (Source: Original TCRF research)

"King" implies a connection to Wind Waker - game has a similar artstyle. "2" either represents this being a succesor to Wind Waker, or the second succesor to Wind Waker on the Wii (implying Twilight Princess was the first?). Unclear if "wii" is part of the name or not. Todo: check if mention in dol is just the save data filename or not. |

cking | The Wind Waker HD | Wii U | September | 2013 | cking.rpx, save data filenames, product code (CZ) | Cafe King and/or Sea King. "King" = Wind Waker.
jack | A Link Between Worlds | 3DS | December | 2013 | Playing card.
joker | Majora's Mask 3D | 3DS | February | 2015 | JokerSound.bcsar, product code (JR) | Playing card. You could also call Majora, Skull Kid or the Happy Mask Salesman jokers. The original game was also a bit of a "wild card", a risky endeavor to create a new Zelda game with less development time than usual. Another possible thought process: Majora -> MJR -> JR -> Joker.
alice | Tri Force Heroes | 3DS | October | 2015 | [todo], product code (A3) | Likely in reference to Alice in Wonderland, which prominently features playing cards
ZeldaTP / dolzel2 / surf / OZ-King | Twilight Princess HD | Wii U | March | 2016 | [todo] / [todo] / /code/surf.rpx, /sound/wiiu_surf.bfsar / WiiU_OZ-King_PS_PEGI_151329.png file from Nintendo of Australia Press | "Dolzel2" is similar to the original game's codename, "gczel2"; "Dolphin" was the GameCube's codename. Maybe "surf" refers to the snowboarding minigame or the Spinner?
uking / U-King | Breath of the Wild | Wii U / Switch | March | 2017 | /code/U-King.rpx, metadata in mp3 from Nintendo E3 2016 site | Playing card. "King" implies a connection to Wind Waker - game has a similar artstyle. U may mean Wii U. |

GCK / KbyW / IUK | Kirby's Return to Dream Land | Wii | October | 2011 | From internal music filenames: fanfare_GCK / ST_KbyW_FUNK1 / IUK_LP_ROCK1, product code (UK), files/snd/iuk_sound/IUK.brsar | Return to Dream Land went through four iterations, so as a result the music is spread between a few different filenames. "GCK" is presumed to be "GameCube Kirby", referring to the game's earliest iteration; "KbyW" is likely "Kirby Wii". An unused beta version of "IUK_LP_ROCK1" is listed as "KbyW_ROCK1", so "IUK" is likely the final development codename. | (Source: Original TCRF research)
