Andurs' Amulet
Andurs, Whiterun's priest of Arkay, has an unused line for when you bring him his lost amulet without talking to him about it. The amulet only spawns once the player has talked to Andurs, so this line is impossible to hear.
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Andurs | Can it be? You've brought me my amulet? Oh, thank Arkay. And thank you. Oh, dear friend, please, take this gold for your troubles. |
Animal Pelt Collection
A cut radiant quest for the Companions, this quest would have you... collect animal pelts for Aela the Huntress.
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Player | I'm looking for work. | |
Aela | We've got some traders coming in, and are short on Cave Bear pelts. | |
Aela | We've got some traders coming in, and are short on Bear pelts. | |
Aela | We've got some traders coming in, and are short on Snow Bear pelts. | |
Aela | We've got some traders coming in, and are short on Sabre Cat pelts. | |
Aela | We've got some traders coming in, and are short on Snow Sabre Cat pelts. | |
Aela | We've got some traders coming in, and are short on Ice Wolf pelts. | |
Aela | We've got some traders coming in, and are short on Wolf pelts. | |
Aela | See if you can find some, and I'll try to find some more interesting work by the time you get back. | |
Player | I'll take care of it. | |
Aela | Of course you will. | |
Player | I don't want that job. | |
Aela | Fine, I'll get someone else to take care of it. | |
Player | I have the pelts you asked for. | |
Aela | These look like good quality, too. I know it's not the glamorous, heroic work, but don't be surprised if I ask you to do it again. |
Arena
Originally, if you were to pick the lock on your cell in the Windhelm Bloodworks/Barracks you would get forcegreeted by Huki, informing you about the Pit rules. This would start your path down the Pit "questline". Afterwards, you could freely talk to her about your next fight. If you're on or on a stage higher than 20 but lesser than 40 in the Quest "Mourning Never Comes", than the "I'm ready to go." dialogue changes to the Alain Dufont-related dialogue below.
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Huki | What is this, you think you're clever? | |
Huki | If you want to fight your way out of here, you have to do it in the Pit. | |
Huki | Gotta give the crowd a show. | |
Huki | Luckily there's no shortage of Pit bait around here. Now get in there and earn your freedom. | |
Huki | All right, meat, it's time for you to earn your freedom. | |
Player | What do I have to do? | |
Huki | We don't just let people rot in cells until they've served their time. Here, you fight. | |
Huki | If you win, you go free. | |
Huki | If you lose, well, you'll know the freedom of Sovngarde if you're lucky. | |
Player | I'm ready to go. | |
Huki | All right. Head to the pit when you think you're ready. | |
Player | I want to fight Alain Dufont. | |
Huki | Well aren't you in luck. He's the next piece of gutter scum on the docket. Between you and me, I hope you cleave his arrogant head open. |
Boethiah's Bidding
A second part of Boethiah's quest that's deliberately blocked off by nonsensical conditions. This part of the quest would have you going to Solitude with the purpose of assassinating Jarl Elisif the Fair.
This dialogue was meant to play when equipping the Ebony Mail, similar to Boethiah's dialogue in the final game.
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Voice of Boethiah | You have earned the right to call yourself my Champion. | |
Voice of Boethiah | And now you must perform the task for which I created you. You have already proven to possess the needed skills. | |
Voice of Boethiah | Go to Solitude. Stalk the Jarl and slay her. | |
Voice of Boethiah | I have spread rumors of an assassin. It will make your job harder, but will allow me to place blame where I desire it. | |
Voice of Boethiah | You will need stealth and lies to get past her guards. You will assassinate her swiftly and quietly. And if combat finds you, survive the escape. | |
Voice of Boethiah | Succeed, and you may keep your title and my armor, and I shall write your name upon the Tablet of Absolute Blackness. | |
Voice of Boethiah | Failure is not an option. |
Upon entering the Blue Palace, you would've been forcegreeted by a generic guard. They would've told you that the Jarl isn't receiving visitors, from there on it's up to you to find a way to proceed. The guard would accompany you until you found a way.
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Guard | I've been instructed to tell all visitors that the Lady Elisif isn't feeling well. She wishes you a good day, and please call again another time. | [[File: |
Guard | [[File: | |
Guard | [[File: | |
Guard | [[File: | |
Player | That won't do. I have pressing business for the Jarl. | |
Guard | I'm afraid you'll have to come back later. I've been given strict instructions that no one be allowed to trouble Lady Elisif. | [[File: |
Guard | [[File: | |
Guard | [[File: | |
Guard | [[File: | |
Player | Maybe I could speak with the Steward instead? | |
Guard | Yes, the Steward is taking visitors. However, I must accompany you at all times while on the royal premises. | [[File: |
Guard | [[File: | |
Guard | [[File: | |
Guard | [[File: | |
Player | Let's go. | |
Guard | Stay close and in plain view. No funny business unless you want a few inches of steel in your belly. | [[File: |
Guard | [[File: | |
Guard | [[File: | |
Guard | [[File: | |
Player | Must you follow me... everywhere? | |
Guard | I suppose you're free to frolic with the wenches in the servant's quarters, but anywhere else, you must have an escort. Jarl's orders. | [[File: |
Guard | [[File: | |
Guard | [[File: | |
Guard | [[File: | |
Player | Maybe one of my friends here in the palace could be my escort? | |
Guard | If there's someone in the palace who can speak for you and wouldn't mind walking you around. Great. Lead me to him. | [[File: |
Guard | [[File: | |
Guard | [[File: | |
Guard | [[File: | |
Guard | Yes. Are you enjoying our little walk together? Or perhaps you'd like to come back when the Lady is taking visitors? | [[File: |
Guard | [[File: | |
Guard | [[File: | |
Guard | [[File: |
If the player gets too far from the escort guard, they'll get scolded for it.
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Guard | Stay where I can see you. | |
Guard | ||
Guard | ||
Guard | You need an escort at all times. | |
Guard | ||
Guard | ||
Guard | Come back here! | |
Guard | ||
Guard |
It's unknown where exactly this line would've been said, but it's likely that the guard escorting you would've said it while near Elisif's private quarters.
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Guard | Private quarters are strictly off limits. You have been warned. | |
Guard | ||
Guard |
You could also speak to the various people in the Blue Palace and ask what's wrong with the Jarl. The servants, Una and Erdi, will explain to you how she has locked herself in her room and that only they have the key.
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Player | What's wrong with the Jarl? | |
Una | She's locked herself in her room not letting anyone in. Well, except for us servants. She's afraid of assassins coming to get her. | |
Una | Even still, I make a point of announcing myself when I enter her room now. I spooked her so bad last time she almost threw the chamber pot at me! | |
Erdi | ||
Erdi | ||
Player | Assassins? Really? That's ridiculous. Who would want to kill her? | |
Una | Not so ridiculous, really. I know people don't think much of her. But she is the Jarl after all. Plenty of folk would kill to be in her shoes. | |
Erdi | ||
Player | She lets the servants in? Seems like a gap in security that could be exploited. | |
Una | Well, she needs to eat. I don't think she even knows where the kitchen is. And milady isn't exactly going to remove her own chamber pot, now is she? | |
Una | It hardly matters though. The door to the stairs is securely locked. There's no way anyone without the key can get in. So don't you worry about it. | |
Erdi | ||
Erdi | ||
Player | The lock could be weaker than it looks. May I see the key? | |
Una | I suppose so. But believe me. Only us servants have a key like that, and its a very expensive looking lock. Really, I wouldn't worry about it. | |
Una | Here. Take a look for yourself. But give it back soon. It's almost time for milady's medicine. | |
Erdi | ||
Erdi |
You could also speak to Elisif through the locked door of her private quarters, but she'd be too paranoid to let you in.
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Elisif | I'm not taking any visitors. | |
Elisif | Please, just go away! | |
Elisif | Leave - me - a - lone! | |
Elisif | Go away! |
Like the servants, you could've asked the various members of the court about the Jarl as well. Any of them could be your escort to her.
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Player | What's wrong with the Jarl? | |
Falk Firebeard/Odar | She's telling everyone she's sick. But she's really locked herself in her room because she fears an assassin is out to get her. | |
Gisli | ||
Bolgeir Bearclaw/Irnskar Ironhand | ||
Sybille Stentor | ||
Melaran | ||
Bryling | ||
Player | Assassins? Really? That's ridiculous. Who would want to kill her? | |
Falk Firebeard/Odar | I know. The poor girl's fright has left her bereft of reason. But there's no talking her out of it. I fear she'll be locked in there for days. | |
Gisli | ||
Bolgeir Bearclaw/Irnskar Ironhand | ||
Sybille Stentor | ||
Melaran | ||
Bryling | ||
Player | Maybe she'd feel safer with a personal bodyguard? I could do that. | |
Falk Firebeard/Odar | I bet she would feel safer. And hopefully you wouldn't have to baby sit her for long. Once she calms down, she might start thinking straight again. | |
Falk Firebeard/Odar | Let's go talk with her. Stay close. Talk of assassins has the guards jumpy. They might attack you if you're not standing near me. | |

Elisif | (Sounds of unlocking and unbarring a door) | [[File: |
Elisif | Well, what are you waiting for?! | [[File: |
This dialogue apparently would be said automatically to you by Elisif, once you enter her room.
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Elisif | Come in, come in! Shut the door behind you! | [[File: |
Elisif | I'm glad they finally believed me. About the assassin I mean. It's been so hard since my Torygg passed. No one takes me seriously. | [[File: |
Elisif | So how's this work exactly? Do you just kind of stand there on the look out? That's what Bolgeir does. Well, he sort of looms more than stands. | [[File: |
Elisif | Bolgeir's loyal, but even he doesn't do what I ask. Case in point, this whole assassin thing. Well at least I have you now. | [[File: |
Elisif | Look at me ramble... Well, I guess I'll go about my business sulking in here. You can stand over there in the corner watching for assassins. | [[File: |
It is unknown exactly when, but likely once you either pulled a weapon or hit Elisif, she would yell out for help whilst fleeing.
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Elisif | Help! Assassin! | [[File: |
Her help would come in the form of guards with unique dialogue.
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Guard | Damn it, I lost him! Protect the Jarl! | |

This dialogue was meant to be said by Boethiah after you killed Elisif. Boethiah would use her body as a conduit in order to talk to you. The lines are very similar to the lines said by Boethiah at the end of her quest in the finished game.
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Voice of Boethiah | You have done well, my Champion. You have earned my respect, a feat few manage and live to tell about it. | [[File: |
Voice of Boethiah | Now go. I have strings to pull that require my full attention. You may pursue your own course wherever it leads you. | [[File: |
Voice of Boethiah | Remember always this: You need answer to no authority, neither mortal, nor divine... As you will it, so it shall be. | [[File: |
Breaching Security Alternate Dialogue
During the Dark Brotherhood quest "Breaching Security", instead of directly telling the player how to get the bonus, you could've originally asked Gabriella how to get it. This can never be heard, however, as the dialogue is tied to non-existent quest stage 10000. The dialogue in question is an alternate version of the dialogue used in the final game, the major difference being that this unused version explicitly mentions the Stormcloaks as co-conspirators against the Emperor. While the dialogue was altered to not mention the Stormcloaks, the incriminating letter you need to plant in the final game is still full of references implicating the Stormcloaks as co-conspirators.
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Player | Is there any way to earn a bonus? | |
Gabriella | Yes. Do not kill Gaius Maro in Dragon Bridge, or on the road. Kill him in one of the other major cities he'll be visiting. | |
Gabriella | There, the body will be discovered quickly, as will the letter implicating Gaius Maro and the Stormcloaks in the Emperor's assassination. | |
Gabriella | Do that, and Astrid has authorized me to grant you a rather unique bonus. It is a special token, to be given to Olava the Feeble, in Whiterun. | |
Gabriella | Olava is an old and dear friend, and a powerful seer. The token entitles you to a reading of your future. It's an opportunity one should not pass up. |
Collecting the Edda
This cut Bards College quest would've been the followup of Tending the Flames. You would receive this quest from Giraud Gemane after completing the aforementioned quest. In this quest, you would seek out bards in Skyrim for their part of the Poetic Edda. Upon collecting every last piece, you would then return to Giraud for your reward.
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Player | Is the Edda complete now that you have King Olaf's Verse? | |
Giraud | The Poetic Edda is never truly complete. As a living history of Skyrim we Bards continually add parts to it. | |
Giraud | In fact, If you collected parts of the Edda from any Bard you encountered in your travels I would be willing to pay you for them. | |
Player | I can do that. | |
Giraud | Wonderful. Just speak to various bards outside of the college, get there parts of the Poetic Edda and return them here to me. | |
Player | Maybe later. | |
Giraud | Come back to me if you change your mind. | |
Player | I've collected some of the Edda for you. | |
Giraud | Wonderful. Soon we'll have the latest section of the Edda complete. Keep up the good work. | |
Giraud | That's it! You've collected every last verse. I can't thank you enough. This deserves a special bonus. |
This dialogue doesn't specify the speaker, it's recorded for every NPC's voicetype that is in the JobBardFaction.

Delayed Burial Alternate Startup
This scene between Uthgerd the Unbroken and Skulvar Sable-Hilt was supposed to play when first passing by the Whiterun Stables. Overhearing it would've functioned as an alternate way of starting the quest Delayed Burial.
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Uthgerd | By Ysmir, it's true. A jester - funny suit and all. Just north, by the Loreius Farm. Fool had a coffin in a cart, with a broken wheel. | |
Uthgerd | Like to see him laugh his way out that. | |
Uthgerd | Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! | |
Skulvar | Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! | |
Skulvar | Well, sounds like you've had quite the journey, Uthgerd. But you were gone longer than usual. I got to thinking maybe you weren't coming back... | |
Uthgerd | You sound like my ma. Figured I was lying dead in a field somewhere, is that it? | |
Skulvar | Thought did cross my mind, yeah. War brewing, talk of a riot in Helgen, and now jesters? Skyrim's gone mad, girl. You need to be careful out there. | |
Uthgerd | Careful, huh? Thanks, Skulvar. I'll remember that. Ha ha ha ha ha ha! |
Drowned Sorrows Aftermath
This alternate version of Birna's response should play after finishing the quest Drowned Sorrows, but since the script never updates, it goes unused.
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Player | Why set up shop here? | |
Birna | Wasn't by choice, I can tell you that. | |
Birna | Options were in short supply. Ranmir and I grew up here, and his drinking soaked up whatever coin we had. | |
Birna | So I opened a shop to try and get by. Now, though... | |
Birna | Have to admit, I'm attached to the place. Suppose that makes me crazy, doesn't it? |
Filling Soul Gems
This cut College of Winterhold had you, obviously, filling soul gems for Sergius Turrianus. How delightful.
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Player | Is there any College business I can help with? | |
Sergius | In fact, there is. I need a soul gem filled, if you're up to it. | |
Player | Maybe some other time. | |
Sergius | Some other time? That's not going to help me much, now is it? | |
Player | I can take care of that for you. | |
Sergius | Here, take this Grand Soul Gem, fill it for me, and bring it right back. I'll be waiting. | |
Player | You needed a soul gem filled? | |
Sergius | Yes, a Grand one. Soon, please. | |
Player | Here's the soul gem you asked for. | |
Sergius | Excellent. Thank you, I'll see that this gets put to good use. |
Ill Met by Moonlight Unused Dialogue
J'Kier
J'Kier is one of the hunters sent by Hircine during Ill Met By Moonlight, he suffers from a scripted death however, meaning these lines can never be heard.
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
J'Kier | May Hircine guide our blades. | |
J'Kier | We follow you, hunt-master. |
Innocence Lost Aftermath
After completing Innocence Lost, Angrenor Once-Honored was supposed to move into the Aretino Residence. Since this never actually happens in the final game, these lines go unheard.
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Angrenor | What? Were you hoping to claim this house for yourself? Well, the Aretinos always liked me, so I think I'm family enough to take up here. | |
Angrenor | Rumor holds that the Aretino boy brought an assassin here. Sounds like nonsense to me. | |
Angrenor | The milk drinkers in this town wouldn't last five minutes in a real battle. |
Lights Out! Unused Scenario
This quest was seemingly reconstructed late in development, as many dialogue lines refer to quest stages that no longer exist. One such removed portion would've had the player help Ma'zaka (the Khajiit keeper of Solitude Lighthouse) and the local guards put a stop to the Blackblood Marauders.
Captain Aldis at the Wreck of the Icerunner
Captain Aldis would've appeared at the wreck of the Icerunner once it had ran aground and he would aid the player in defeating the bandits.
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Player | Who are you? | |
Aldis | You're the one Mazzaka described to me. | |
Player | Who are you? | |
Aldis | I'm Captain Aldis. I'm here to help you take down these bandits. | |
Player | Just you? | |
Aldis | We're stretched thin in Solitude, and I don't expect these bandits to be much challenge. Are you ready? | |
Player | Let's take them out. | |
Aldis | With pleasure. |
Deeja's Defeat
While fighting Deeja, she would've entered bleedout state (kneeling on the ground and yielding) and the player would've had the choice of either killing her or letting her live and locking her up. Captain Aldis would've reacted different to the choice that the player made but, for some reason, the dialogue was recorded in the MaleArgonian voicetype and attached Jaree-Ra instead. Deeja also had unique dialogue for this event, but none remains in the files.
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Player | Looks like Deeja won't be bothering us again. | |
Aldis | Good riddance. | |
Player | Deeja will need to be locked up. | |
Aldis | I'll take care of it. | |
Aldis | I've been away from Solitude for as long as I can. But if you decide to finish these bandits off, you'll be rewarded for your efforts. |
Confront Jaree
The player was supposed to be confronted by Jaree-Ra at the end of the quest. In the final game, he just attacks you, but if you sneak up on him without him turning hostile, it is still possible to have the first confrontation play out.
Confrontation 1
This confrontation can still happen if the player sneaks up on Jaree without making him hostile. The player had a line of dialogue after Jaree's first line, but the text got removed, resulting in the line appearing as ellipses in-game. It likely talked about loot though, if Jaree's answer is anything to go by.
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Jaree | First you murder my sister, then you massacre my men! | |
Player | ||
Jaree | To Oblivion with your loot! This ends now! |
Confrontation 2
This confrontation is deliberately made unavailable by an unattainable quest stage. It would've been used if the player worked with the guards and, strangely enough, the player's dialogue didn't get removed for this confrontation.
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Jaree | You've betrayed me, murdered my sister and massacred my men! | |
Player | And now it's your turn. | |
Jaree | You don't have what it takes to kill me. |
Ending
The player could've reported back to Captain Aldis in Solitude after defeating the bandits, and they would've received 200 septims from him.
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Player | I dealt with the rest of the bandits. | |
Aldis | It's appreciated. The captains around here will have one less thing to worry about. Here's your reward. |
Lod's Lot
This short quest was originally offered to you by Lod, he would've asked for you to buy a book from him. The book in question, however, was stolen from a grave. There doesn't appear to be an option for denying the book, but after accepting you would've gotten a quest update telling you to turn Lod in to Kust.
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Lod | Hey friend, you wouldn't happen to be looking for unusual items would you? | |
Player | What sort of items? | |
Lod | First off, let's keep this between us. I picked these up from the graves in town so don't go blabbing about it to Kust. | |
Lod | You have to understand, Gentle Repose is a fallow festering place I should have left a long time ago. This is one of the few ways I make any money. | |
Lod | Right now I've got a book that I think you might like. | |
Player | A book? | |
Lod | Yeah, if your interested then I'll give you the book for free. If you like it you can come back later and I'll have other stuff. | |
Lod | I mean, it don't cost me anything to let you have one and the dead won't notice their stuff missing. heh. | |
Player | Sure, I'll take the book. | |
Lod | Great. Here you go. Come back later and I'll have other things. | |
Player | Lod has a book he stole from a grave. | |
Kust | I knew something was up. I'll make sure he doesn't disrespect this place anymore. Honesty is a rare thing to find these days. Thank you. |
Missing in Action Unused Dialogue
Eorlund Gray-Mane
There are 2 lines in possession of Eorlund which can never be used. They were supposedly for the quest Missing In Action (MS07) but the conditions are set to only work during the quest In My Time Of Need (MS08). Even stranger is the second condition dictating that it can only play during stage 1000 (which does not exist), these odd conditions guarantee that these lines never get heard.
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Eorlund | We Gray-Manes got just as much to be proud of as them Battle-Borns, but you won't see us with our noses in the air. | |
Eorlund | My poor Fralia thinks Thorald's still alive, but I know better. |
Narzulbur Freeform Quest
This unnamed quest, internally known as "NarzulburFreeFormWifeQuest", would've explored the story of Chief Mauhulakh of Narzulbur and his bad luck with his wives. The player would have to return an old flame, named Uglarz, to him. No player dialogue remains of this quest, but the story can still be puzzled together by the remaining NPC dialogue.
Mauhulakh's Dialogue
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Mauhulakh | The mine is rich, and so are we. | |
Mauhulakh | But I am cursed, it would seem, to live alone. | |
Mauhulakh | I've had several wives. But each dies sooner than the last. | |
Mauhulakh | I was lucky to get children out of the ones I did. | |
Mauhulakh | Everyone said it had run out, but I smashed down one wall and found the widest veins of ebony I'd ever seen. | |
Mauhulakh | So now we're rich and now I'm chief. | |
Mauhulakh | I think of Uglarz. An old friend. When we were little she ran to the woods to hunt, and never came back. | |
Mauhulakh | If someone found her, she would make an excellent mate. | |
Mauhulakh | Ha. Good luck to you, friend. She's not one who likes to be found. |
Uglarz' Dialogue
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Uglarz | I am Uglarz, huntress of all. | |
Uglarz | It was my home. But I left. The woods felt more alive, at least for a time. | |
Uglarz | Mauhulakh. I remember him. Little, scrawny, fellow. | |
Uglarz | Ha! Now that I would like to see. I may go back there some day. | |
Uglarz | Always thought that old mine had more to it. Just like Mauhulakh to smash his way to good fortune. | |
Uglarz | I'm going back to Narzulbur. Want to see how it's come. |
Aftermath Dialogue
Practically everyone important in the stronghold would've voiced their opinion on their chief's new mate after finishing the quest, some happier than others.
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Mauhulakh | I am proud to have a mate to share in my blessings. | |
Mauhulakh | I'm hoping this wife can outlast the winter. | |
Bolar | All my auguring never predicted this. A woman for Mauhulakh, eh? We'll see how this goes. | |
Yatul | Well at least now Mauhulakh has nothing to whine about. Until this one dies, too. | |
Urog | Uglarz is a great huntress. Perhaps she can teach me something new. | |
Urog | I never would have thought, but Uglarz is an even better hunter than Yatul was. The things I'm learning now... | |
Dushnamub | Glad my father seems to have found someone. I just hope she can hold her own against my aunts. | |
Dushnamub | I think I like this new mate of my father's. I mean... nothing like that. I just think she's nice. | |
Uglarz | You were right about this place. And about Mauhulakh. | |
Uglarz | This was worth coming back for. | |
Uglarz | Urog is a good learner. I'm glad I have the chance to teach her. Makes me not miss the woods as much. | |
Uglarz | Urog and I still hunt a lot, so it's not like I'm cooped up in the longhouse. |
Proving Honor Unused Dialogue
Originally, it was possible to ask the members of The Circle what it was like to be a werewolf. Before being inducted in The Circle yourself, your question would get rejected. After becoming a member you would get a full response with everyone's honest thoughts. Skjor's dialogue still gets referenced in the final game when talking to Kodlak, where one of your responses is "Skjor said it was a blessing from Hircine." All the dialogue is deliberately blocked off with nonsensical conditions.
Rejections
Speaker | Text | |
---|---|---|
Player | What's it like being a werewolf? | |
Kodlak | How did you... you reach beyond your station, new blood. Let's wait and see how we judge your Trial before speaking further. | |
Aela | You shouldn't even know about that. Remember you're not a full Companion yet, whelp. Know your place. | |
Aela | What did I tell you? Keep quiet about that. | |
Farkas | I think there are some things that... oh, wait. Are you trying to trick me? You are not a full-blood yet. We can't talk about that. | |
Farkas | We should not be talking about that. | |
Vilkas | I don't know what you're talking about. But if I were you, I'd hold my tongue. | |
Skjor | I don't know who you've been talking to, but they were clearly mistaken. | |
Skjor | Especially for a new whelp, you should choose your words more carefully. |
Full Responses
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Player | What's it like being a werewolf? | |
Kodlak | For me, a heavy burden. | |
Kodlak | The beastblood has given me prowess, but my soul is now forfeit to Hircine upon my death. | |
Kodlak | I keep searching for some hope of Sovngarde, but to no avail. | |
Skjor | A sensitive question. You may want to be careful broaching that subject with some. | |
Skjor | The old man and I have our differences when it comes to this. It's a blessing, given by Hircine. | |
Skjor | To worry about the hereafter means losing sight of the now. | |
Skjor | What do I care about Sovngarde? Give me the power to tear my foes as a beast of the wild, and I will savor it. | |
Aela | I was raised in the woods. Hunting every animal I could see, with my father. I know them all as well as I know my own mind. | |
Aela | And when I feel myself filling with the blood of the wolf... it's like I'm bringing all the strength of all the beasts inside me. | |
Aela | But my mind and soul remain my own. I become more than either human or beast. | |
Aela | It's like being born. Every time. | |
Vilkas | I've enjoyed the boons that come with beastblood. Just like every member of the Circle. | |
Vilkas | Kodlak is right, though. We've given a piece of our souls for this power. I know my mythic histories. Bargains like that lead to ruin. | |
Vilkas | This is a curse that was laid upon us. That much is clear. | |
Farkas | I like being stronger when I become the wolf. But Kodlak says it is bad for the soul, and I trust him. |
Research Thief
One of multiple cut College of Winterhold quests, in this quest, you would've been sent by Nirya to steal some notes from Faralda. You could've either turned the notes in to Nirya, or you could rat out Nirya to Faralda.
Nirya's Dialogue
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Player | You look like you could use some help. | |
Nirya | Well, I suppose I could use a hand with something, yes. | |
Nirya | Faralda's working on something, and I want to know what it is. | |
Nirya | I want her notes. You think you could get them for me, without her knowing? | |
Player | Isn't that stealing? | |
Nirya | Yes, yes it is. | |
Nirya | You have a problem with that? | |
Nirya | Look, either you get the notes or I'll figure out another way to do it. Just come find me if you can get your hands on them. | |
Player | What's in it for me? | |
Nirya | I'll throw some money at you. Good enough? | |
Nirya | Just get the notes and bring them to me. If you can't do it, I'll find some other way to manage it. | |
Nirya | I'm still waiting for those notes, if you can get them. | |
Player | Here are the notes you wanted. | |
Nirya | Good, good. She didn't see you take them? | |
Nirya | Al right, this should be enough to figure out what she's up to. Then I can make sure it doesn't work. | |
Nirya | Good work. Here, take this, and keep quiet. |
Faralda's Dialogue
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Player | Nirya wanted me to steal your notes. | |
Faralda | She what? | |
Faralda | Oh, I should've known she'd try it again! | |
Faralda | Thanks for warning me. I'll see to it this is taken care of. |
Rogue Wizard
Another of the many cut College of Winterhold quests, Rogue Wizard had you dealing with a College member that terrorised a hold for the Jarl of that hold. (The quest would have been repeatable)
Tolfdir's Dialogue
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Player | Is there anything I should be aware of? | |
Tolfdir | I'm afraid so. There's a problem with one of the Jarls here in Skyrim. | |
Tolfdir | He's been complaining of a member of the College running amok in his hold. | |
Tolfdir | She's been complaining of a member of the College running amok in her hold. | |
Tolfdir | We have, of course, severed all ties with the mage in question, but the Jarl isn't appeased. | |
Tolfdir | So, the mage needs to be "taken care of," if you understand me. | |
Tolfdir | I would hate to see our reputation further tarnished. | |
Player | The Jarl has been appeased. | |
Tolfdir | Very good. I hope this will allow us to maintain our reputation. |
Jarl's Dialogue
This dialogue doesn't specify the speaker, it's recorded for every NPC's voicetype that is in the JobJarlFaction.

Leftover Dialogue
There are 2 leftover topics which do not have any response from Tolfdir. The first one would've appeared after Tolfdir's "I would hate to see our reputation further tarnished.". The second one is nameless and it's unknown when it would've appeared, although it's likely that it would've appeared after Tolfdir's "So, the mage needs to be "taken care of," if you understand me.".

Runil's Dark Past
Runil's Dark Past is another one of Falkreath's cut quests, in the quest, you would've found out that Runil is troubled from one his friends, once you knew, you would've been able to talk to him about it and either keep his secret or tell his friends. There's no remaining dialogue for actually receiving the quest, only dialogue from there on after remains. It's also unknown what would've happened after the quest would've played out.
Runil's Dialogue
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Player | Some of your friends feel you're troubled. | |
Runil | Burying the past is much harder than burying remains. I'm... I'm afraid of what you will think of me if I tell you about the things I've done. | |
Player | Go on. | |
Runil | Although I have not practiced in a long time I was once a wizard. Even when I was young my magic was undeniably powerful. | |
Runil | It was that power that brought me to the attention of the Thalmor. In the Summerset Isles it is a great honor to be chosen to serve the Thalmor. | |
Player | The Thalmor? | |
Runil | They are the governing council of the Aldmeri Dominion. They lead us to attack the Empire and forced the Empire to agree to stop worshiping Talos. | |
Runil | It was during the war with the Empire that I was at the height of my power. As a Thalmor battlemage I laid waste the enemy. | |
Runil | Men, women, children, no one was spared my wrath. I destroyed whole villages. | |
Player | And you're afraid your friends will find out? | |
Runil | I dream about those days still. Except I'm not me. I can see myself there and I try to stop what I know is going to happen but... | |
Runil | Many of the Empire's troops were Nords at that point. Some of them could even have been from around here. | |
Player | Your secret is safe with me. | |
Runil | Thank you. May Arkay bless you. I won't forget this. |
Runil's Friends' Dialogue
While there doesn't seem to be an option remaining in Runil's dialogue above, you would've been able to tell Kust, Mathies and Indara Caerellia about his secret. They all share the same reaction.
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Player | Runil was one of the Thalmor during the war... | |
Kust | I knew he was troubled but one of the Thalmor? I wish I could say I did not believe it. Thank you for telling me. | |

Soljund's Sinkhole Unused Dialogue
The quest of the same name started at Soljund's Sinkhole has a couple of different bugs, resulting in some of Perth, the quest giver's, dialogue going unused. Because the quest initiates as soon as you ask Perth about the mine, he will immediately close dialogue with you. You were supposed to have the option of either accepting or denying the quest. Due to bad scripting, his responses are left unheard.
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Player | I'll handle those draugr for you. | |
Perth | You're joking, right? Those bone-walkers will tear you limb from limb. | |
Perth | But if you want to get yourself killed, go ahead. | |
Player | I'll stay out, then. | |
Perth | Good to hear. |
Supply Line
At one point during development, you were able to help brothers Borvir and Rundi deliver their new mead to inns around Skyrim. In the final game, both Borvir and Rundi end up dead.
Rundi's Dialogue
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Player | How's the meadery working out? | |
Rundi | It's tough, with just the two of us. | |
Rundi | There's hardly ever time to make the occasional delivery to the taverns of Skyrim. | |
Rundi | We could use a pair of hands and a strong back. There'd be a little coin in it for you. | |
Player | I can certainly help. | |
Rundi | That'd be great. There's a case of our soon-to-be famous mead that needs to get to Winterhold. Get it there, and you can keep the delivery fee. | |
Player | Need me to deliver any more mead? | |
Rundi | Indeed I do. | |
Rundi | I need you to take a case of mead to the Frozen Hearth in Winterhold. The delivery fee is yours to keep. | |
Rundi | Another case of mead needs to find its way to the Bannered Mare in Whiterun. The delivery fee is yours to keep. | |
Rundi | Candlehearth Hall is running low on our famous mead. Can you drop off this case? The gold is yours, as always. |
Innkeeper Dialogue
This reaction dialogue is the same for every possible innkeeper and backup innkeeper target. Since the possible destinations are Candlehearth Hall, The Frozen Hearth and The Bannered Mare, these NPCs include Elda Early-Dawn, Nils, Dagur, Hulda, and (because the game doesn't really have a clear defintion on who is Whiterun's backup innkeeper) Saadia.
Speaker | Text | File |

Under Saarthal Unused Dialogue
Saarthal Miners
There were to be miners present in Saarthal during the quest "Under Saarthal". There would've been two kinds of miners, Bosmer miners and Dunmer miners. The Bosmer would have had the MaleCoward voicetype while the Dunmer would've had the MaleDarkElf voicetype. They shared 5 lines of dialogue.
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Miner | I'm just doing what I'm told. | |
Miner | ||
Miner | Gods, it's cold. They'd better find something good in there to make this worthwhile. | |
Miner | ||
Miner | As long as the College keeps paying, I'll keep digging. | |
Miner | ||
Miner | For thousand-year old ruins, they're not much to look at. | |
Miner | ||
Miner | Can't imagine what the College expects to find in here. | |

The Missing Apprentices
In this cut College of Winterhold quest, you would've helped locate four missing Apprentices from the previous group for Phinis Gestor. You would've gathered items from them and returned these to Phinis. Borvir and Rundi seem to have been repurposed for this quest.
Speaker | Text | File |
---|---|---|
Player | You said something about missing Apprentices? | |
Phinis | Ah, that. Yes, the group prior to yours has disappeared entirely. | |
Phinis | It's possible that there was less than the necessary amount of oversight. That's still being looked into. | |
Phinis | But we've had no contact with them for quite some time now. | |
Phinis | Arniel wondered if perhaps they'd somehow managed to get themselves lost in the Outer Realms, but I think that's giving them too much credit. | |
Player | Where could they have gone? | |
Phinis | I'm not sure. None of them were working on anything terribly dangerous. | |
Player | How long have they been missing? | |
Phinis | I hadn't really considered it in terms of time. I suppose it's been at least a month. | |
Phinis | Let me think... what were they working on? | |
Phinis | As I recall, Yisra was trying to improve flame cloak spells to better work in Skyrim's harsh environment. | |
Phinis | Ilas-tei was practicing Illusions spells. She was having trouble with the calm spells, I believe, but only ever worked with skeevers. | |
Phinis | And then there's Borvir and Rundi. Twins, though they rarely agreed on anything. | |
Phinis | Those two boys were obsessed with mead. Convinced they could concoct something to compete with Honningbrew. | |
Phinis | Something about using frost magic to chill the mead for a certain period of time. I felt it was a waste, but the Arch-Mage let them proceed. | |
Player | Any word from the missing Apprentices? | |
Phinis | None. It's been long enough that honestly, I don't expect to hear from them. | |
Phinis | No, and after what you've discovered I fear the worst for them. | |
Player | I found this. It belonged to Borvir. | |
Phinis | Yes, I recognize it. | |
Phinis | Well, I suppose I needn't wonder where he is anymore. | |
Player | I found this. It's Rundi's, isn't it? | |
Phinis | It certainly is. Was, I suppose. | |
Phinis | He would never have willingly parted with it. What a shame. | |
Player | I found Ilas-tei. Here's proof. | |
Phinis | Oh dear. | |
Phinis | I had particularly high hopes for her. Once she'd overcome her difficulties, she could have been quite successful here. | |
Player | I'm afraid Yisra didn't survive. | |
Phinis | Gods, this is hers, isn't it? | |
Phinis | She will certainly be missed. | |
Phinis | Well, all of the previous Apprentices have been accounted for, thanks to you. | |
Phinis | Here, why don't you take this. It was intended to be given to the best in their group as a reward for their hard work. | |
Phinis | It's the least I can do for your help in putting this matter to rest. | |
Phinis | Oh dear, I didn't mean to say it like that. That wasn't a joke, really. |
Trius' Trinket
In this cut quest, you would've found a man named Trius at his camp near Pilgrim's Trench. He would've asked for your help searching a sunken ship for a jewelry box, only player dialogue remains.

Player | Trouble? |
Player | Sorry, I'm not interested. |
Player | My services aren't free. |
Player | I suppose I could lend a hand. |
