At the title screen, highlight Start, hold Up and press A or Start.

Most likely that this is one line of the Sound engine source code, so the cut off word "envol" may refer to "envelope".

This is some kind of end of the file mark in the assembled code. All data past this string in the ROM is unused garbage bytes. So they may check how many free bytes are left after assembly.
