Test Mode

Hold Down + A + C while pressing Start on the "START" option in the main menu (you can hold the buttons from before the title screen shows up to make it easier) to access a simple graphics bank test.

• A cycles through the different COLOR (palette line) values.
• B cycles through the different BANK (tile set) values.
• C cycles through the different ROUND values, which affects which tiles are loaded for some banks.
• Start exits the screen, taking you back to the main menu.

An alternate Masaya logo is loaded with the one used after the Sega logo.

Explode Star Remnant

The domestic name in the game's header is EXPLODE STAR. This is left over from when it was planned to release in Japan under that name.

Debug Mode

Hold A+B+C+Up and press Start at the title screen to enter a debug menu containing a setting for continues and a level select. The text for this menu can be found at offset 0xAE4C:
