What do we get from two Harry Potter games made by two different studios with the same resources? The same things, but in this case, it won't be as good.

Even if the PS2 version is not up to the level of the Xbox and GameCube versions of the game, it was able to bring advantages that the others didn't have, and the PS2 version would later become the most recognizable version. But at least we can still assault people with Flipendo, because everyone likes violence!

Unused Model

Character

Voldemort

The well known dark lord should have appeared at the beginning of the development when the project was on HP1 before it changed for the second one, making this model with other, unused or even deleted from the game.

Voldemort HPCOSPS2.png

Pomona Sprout

The herbology teacher should have taught things in this game as in the original work. The intact model was reused in the remake of the first game and is also left unused in the GameCube and Xbox version of the game with minor texturing and modeling differences

Sprout HPcos PS2.png

The Old Hag

The Old Hag is an witch living in Knockturn Alley who occasionally eats children. She has some animation and some lines, she was probably forgotten after Knockturn Alley was removed from the game. the Gamecube and Xbox version has exactly the same unused model

Hag HPCOSPS2.png

Lapifor Rabbit

This rabbit should have been the result of a transformation of the Lapifor spell, it's a spell that works like avifor except that it's not a bird that comes out but a classy white rabbit also left behind in the GameCube and Xbox version under a quite different model.

Object

Wand ? Ice Cream ? Tower Control ?

This model is called "modelnotfound" and is probably used when a model is missing such as "error.mdl" from the source games. The model in question is just some untextured polygons.

Modelnotfound HPCOSPS2.png

Dungbomb

The dungbombs could have been used but were abandoned as the Stink Pellet is easier to use and unlike the Xbox and Gamecube version, it can be fitted to the buttons without necessarily being functional. The model was recycled on Sorcerer's Stone 2003.

Dungbomb hpcosps2.png Dungbombs Icon HP2 PS2.png

The game also has a very early version meant to be used for inventory, the form was also quite different

Dungbomb2 hpcousos2.png

Galleons and Knuts

Two handsome model for a Galleons and a Knuts, it is one of many money devise at Diagon Alley along with the Sickles.
Many item from Gambol and Japes could be purchase with those but only the Sickles can be found in the game.

Early Flipendo Button

A very different button, red and with the old symbol of the previous versions

Alohomora Lock

A lock that is supposed to be installed on the door to be unlocked with Alohomora. to be reused in the remake of Sorcerer Stone.

Unused Texture

Early Title Screen

The game contains much different and brighter title screen, 2 loading screen and a scrapped controller option graphics than the used version.
The title screen has art of harry and a gnome whose head is used in the Gamecube and Xbox version. The screen has the note "Burrow Focus Test Level" presumably referring to a level or something, and "EA confidential" showing that it is from an early prototype.
There are 2 title screens, one identical to the title screen, one with a bar and the current game logo.
The controls screen has the specification "In the case of the demo, the only spell is Flipendo", this must be from a private prototype and that the other spells are not yet implemented either as a demo for beta testers or for the playable demo at E3 2002.

"Test" animation

Some "test animation" files in .TGA format exist in the game. This image depicts Uma Thurman from the 1998 film The Avengers, occasionally poorly edited with different colors.

Unused Spell

In addition to Flipendo, Experliarmus and Harry's small array of spells, seventeen other spells can be found in the game probably from early development as little data remains of these spells other than these texts.
Thirteen of these spells also exist in the Gamecube and Xbox version except that unlike that version, here the description of these spells have been filled in.
The other version only contained a placeorder text, so we can know more about the usefulness of the spells as they are often modified for the game.

Nox

Nox is the equivalent of Lumos since it works in the same way even though it is described as "the counter-spell of Lumos".
It was often quoted with Lumos in some unused text of the gamecube and xbox version.

Nox
Extinguishes wand

Reparifors

The first appearance of the Reparifors spell which originally should have been served with Lapifors as seen below.
It will make its first appearance in the GBA version of the 3rd work and was a healing spell that could be used with a Chocolate Frog.

 Reparifors
Returns transfigured objects and creatures to their original

Propoff

An unknown spell with a curious purpose that will never appear anywhere else.

 Propoff
Pull away wooden support

Titillando

A spell intended for Duelling. This spell may have been cut due to its similarities to Rictusempra, which does the same thing in canon.

 Titillando
Tickles small opponents, makes them weak

Lapifors

There is a lot of evidence that this spell has gone a little further than others.
It has some audio data and rabbit sounds in the gamecube and xbox version and the rabbit itself still exists in the game, it can be seen shamefully locked in a cage in Diagon Alley in front of the Magical Menagerie.
Hermony will be the only one who can learn it in the next Prisoner of Askaban game.

 Lapifors
Turns small creatures into rabbits

Locomotor Mortis

Harry should have been able to cast the famous spell that only prefects can cast in the game.
The spell should have at one point, been purchased from Fred & Goerge according to some unused line.
The data of this one is still on gamecube and can be cast by Memory editor but can't really be used.

 Locomotor Mortis
Binds legs

Colloshoo

The Stickfast Hex is an alternative to Locomotor Mortis because it works in the same way. Doesn't exist in other version

 Colloshoo
Shoes stick temporarily to the floor

Locomotor Wibbly

The Jelly-Legs Jinx appeared in the books and was rejected because Locomotor Mortis is much easier to make in game.

 Locomotor Wibbly
Jelly legs/legs collapse

Fumos

another dueling spell that allows to throw a smoke screen to hide the caster and already appeared in the Gameboy games.
This spell should have been learned in a second Lockarts class where Harry should have learned it to defeat the Doxies invading the class, Ron's unused lines support this source.

 Fumos
Conjures smokescreen

Wingardium Leviosa

The most famous spell of levitation should have been part of the game, was already appeared in the previous game but curiously never appear in any Chamber of Secret game.
Even the 6th gen console adaptation of Sorcerer's stone do not feature this spell.

 Wingardium Leviosa
Makes objects fly

Furnunculus

This spell was never feature in any game, probably too complicated to render.
It was cast many time by Harry in the book.

 Furnunculus
Pimples erupt on opponent

Petrificus Totalus

This spell could be a duelling spell or another alternative to Locomotor Mortis.

 Petrificus Totalus
Total body bind

Spongify

In any other game, Spongify was use to make Harry jump high but I could be use in any situation for this purpose and will be used again in the last Sorcerer's stone game.

 Spongify
Will make some objects soft

Mucus Ad-Nauseam

The spell was in the GBC game another duelling spell, used for make the oponement's nose fall down.
It could purchase at Gambol & Japes for eight galleons at one point according to found line in the Xbox version.

 Mucus Ad-Nauseam
Curse of the Bogies

Mimblewimble

Yep, again, a duelling spell. Was used in the PC version for the same purpose as write down below.

 Mimblewimble
Tongue-tie opponent

Wrong Hand, Right hand ?

Nothing is know about this, it maybe something that could be or not, an actual spells, maybe related to Ollivender

Unused Objects

 Flute
Sheet music 1
Sheet music 2
Sheet music 3

Such an object does not exist in the game. It would probably have something to do with Fluffy.

 Galleons
Knuts

some items at Gambol and Japes were once in Galleon, Knuts and Sickles. But only Sickles can be collected.

 Billywig Blades

//

 Belch powder

You should have had Belching Powder in your inventory like in the GBA version

 Walking Teapot

It is unknown what this object could have been

 Potions Kit
This is a Potion Kit, you'll need this to impress all your mates.

You should have bought a Potion Kit instead of a vial at Mulpeppers for Snape's classes until this one was removed from the game. The model is the same as the Potion Kit you have to find at Hogward.

Task

 Buy wand from Ollivanders
Collect owl from Eeylops Owl Emporium.
Meet Hagrid in Leaky Cauldron courtyard.

Unused Dialogue

Introduction

Like the PC version, the game should have had an introduction before Harry's arrival at the Burrow. This dialogue can be found in the Gamecube and Xbox version of the game, completely identical. Note that the line "There is a plot to make most terrible things happen." was already an unused line in the PC version.

File where it was found Clip Note
new01_convs.sdt
This line is for an unused introductory cutscene narrating the events of the story up until the game starts at the Burrow. The text is similar to the opening cutscenes of the PC and PS1 versions, but not identical to either. In the final versions of the sixth generation console adaptations, the game starts directly with Harry, Ron and his brothers arriving at the Burrow, with no introductory cutscene. Apart from this line, there is no data about this cutscene. The subtitle text corresponding to this line exists on the gamecube and xbox and pc version as well as the line "there is a plot to make most terrible things happen." was already unused in the PC version

The second Defend Against the Dart Art class

File where it was found Clip Note
dy601_convs.sdt
Fumos would have had a dedicated class, Harry would have had to sneak in the Fumos challenge while Doxy from the original work, attacked the class and had to defeat them with the spell.

Harry

File where it was found Clip Note
dia01_convs.sdt
It seems that Harry should have originally taken money from the Leaky Cauldron rather than from Molly Weasley

The Olg Hag

File where it was found Clip Note
dia01_convs.sdt
Hag is an NPC who was taken to oblivion with Knockturn Alley. These dialogue lines were scattered in each console version of the game except the PS1, especially the second line which is also present in the Xbox version of the game, the gamecube had 4 other line from Hag
