The first logo at start-up was replaced in 2000 to reflect the change of publisher.

The title screen was updated between the Epic and 2000 versions, and copyright info was added to the lower left corner of the screen.

The 1.1/2.1 versions support network play. This was removed in 2000, and replaced with a Timed Battle mode. These menu's backgrounds in the 2000 version also culls an Epic Megagames copyright while updating the copyright year.

2.0 added the fourth episode, as well as a few extra levels in Episode 1. It also added the Bonus Game's Zinglon's Ale (activated after completing Episode 1), Zinglon's Squadrons (activated after completing Episode 4) and Zinglon's Revenge (activated after completing Episode 4 with the Stalker 21.126). Tyrian 2000 added the rather silly (and short) Episode 5.

In 1.1, you get a text screen and are sent to the level MINES when you select Deliani in Episode 1 the first time. In 2.1, the warning shows up before the shop screen. The music the level uses is different too, playing Halloween Ramble in 1.1 and Tunneling Trolls in 2.1.
