This minigame is in a very early state and it's simply called "Boss" in the hub. It's split into two levels, with the event order switched, where the Ballistix arena happens before the space chase.

Oxide Ride pt2
The second phase consists of the space chase. According to the "VIEW STATS" menu in the debug menu, this is classified as a regular level and not a boss level.

- The level takes place in a big dull desert of darkness, and there are no asteroids or hazards.
- The player can't shoot and uses the default hovercraft from the Crash Dash levels.
- Bouncing barrels of toxic waste come at you during the chase. They won't hurt the player, though.
- The level is pretty much an infinite loop of barrels coming at you, while N. Oxide is running right ahead. There is no way to win.
- There are no barriers on the left or right sides of the level, so you can drive endlessly off the edges of the level.

- The objective of the crystal challenge is different: you can only score from inside the five zone instead of the flashing zone.
Mallet Mash
- It's called "Extra 3" in the warp hub.
- Each mushroom only gives 1 point and there are no golden mushrooms.
- Hitting a mushroom won't tell you how much points you earned.
- Swinging your mallet and attacking other players are two different buttons - you press Circle to swing your mallet and X to attack players. Pressing X to attack will use the character's attack from Crate Crush levels.
- The attack move is broken for Dingodile and Rilla Roo. Trying to attack as them will cause them to start spinning around in their idle animation perpetually until they are attacked. Although they can move, they cannot swing their mallet while they are spinning.
- There are no invincibility periods between being attacked.
- If you charge your swing long enough, the game does not hold you in place and you are free to walk around while it plays the charging animation.
- Every character except Crash, Dingodile, and Rilla Roo are missing the animations pertaining to the mallets, and they go into their idle pose when they swing the mallet.
- When the round ends, the losing players do not get removed from the map.
- The characters lack their stunt animations.
- Trying to swing your mallet while playing as Dingodile will cause him to completely freeze up, and he is not able to move again until he is attacked.

- The crystal challenge features a different objective: "Hitting the mushrooms has consequences", although it's identical to the trophy challenge. In the final game, your opponents will create shockwaves every time they swing their mallet.
- It is impossible to lose unless you do not have any mushrooms. When time runs out, if you have at least one mushroom, then the game will zoom into the player with the most mushrooms, declare "you win," and then give you the crystal as it plays the person who won's victory voice clip.
- The crystal challenge will restart perpetually as if it is a trophy challenge until you quit the level.
Keg Kaboom
This minigame works vastly different and was completely reworked in the final game. You are supposed to drop powder kegs in the arena by pressing Circle and use it to harm the other players by making them touch the flames from the kegs' explosions. The players also drop gunpowder trails, which creates chasing flames in the arena. This makes the minigame end in a matter of seconds, specially since there are no invincibility frames after hit.
- There is only one type of powder keg, and there aren't any items or fire creatures roaming around the map.
- There are no invincibility periods between being attacked.
- The characters lack their stunt animations, but they seem to play the first few frames of the animation before reverting to their idle pose.
- Dingodile has Rilla Roo's stun animation.
- The characters don't make any sound when stunned.
