This is a list of games that require a battery for saves or Real-Time Clock on systems that have different ways of saving, some games listed may not include batteries in your copies, but most would use batteries, this may also mostly affect all regional versions too.

Note: Some of the game names will also use the Japanese subtitle, but it still means it is the same game, unless mentioned in the notice section.

1994 Mega Man: The Wily Wars / Rockman: Mega World Actual Save Only the Japanese version uses a battery (SRAM), the European version uses EEPROM (so no battery), there is a US version, but even with a certain limited edition, don't know what it has to save.

1996-2001 N64 Controller Pak Actual Save or More Data Needed for N64 games that don't save on cartridge or for more data and/or save slots (example: Mario Kart 64's Ghost Trials, Blast Corps/Blastdozer's 4 additional save slots and US and European versions of N64 Castlevania games [Japanese versions save on the cart]).

1998 Pokémon Stadium (JP) / Pocket Monsters Stadium Actual Save This is the 1st ever one released only in Japan, not the sequel that the west got as the first or even Pokémon Stadium: Kin Gin aka Pokémon Stadium 2, they both use Flash to save.
1999 Resident Evil 2 / Biohazard 2 Actual Save Even if impressive how Capcom ported this on N64, your RE/Biohazard survival horror save hostory will die soon, unless preserved somehow.

2003 Mega Man Zero 2 / Rockman Zero 2 Actual Save I've only confirmed that the Japanese one uses one, I don't know about US or European versions.

2004-2005 Pokémon Emerald Version Real Time Clock The game uses Flash for actual saving.
