About Me

Hi, I'm Hylia! I'm 22 years old, autistic and transgender. I like Nintendo, and dabble into light video game modding - usually basic text edits, as I am a particular fan of "Google Translate" hacks (i.e. running game dialogue through Google Translate so many times until a point is reached in which the dialogue is incomprehensive, comedic gibberish). Many of my TCRF contributions are/will be unused text I discover whilst working on said hacks, though I may also document regional/revisional differences.

I am also working on the "Super Mario Bros. Reimagined" mod for New Super Mario Bros. (DS), recreating levels from the original Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros. 3 for the NES with level editing tools. These recreations aim to include new bonus areas, and incorporation of power-ups and star coins into the level design, whilst still keeping faithful.

Additionally, I create YouTube content, but I don't have a consistent schedule that I follow and am not always active. My most notable (and time-consuming) videos are my retrospective videos, where I go through a Nintendo system library and share my thoughts about each of the most notable (to me) games I played through text commentary. I also create occasional modding tutorials, if I feel it can be beneficial, as well as one-off Nintendo videos on certain topics, non-video game related Google Translate parodies and other memes.

I also love The Simpsons: Hit & Run, the most nostalgic non-Nintendo game I grew up with, as well as it's predecessor The Simpsons: Road Rage. In addition to this, I am a fan of Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic Heroes, which I discovered in my early teen years at a friend's recommendation, and I also like The Sims 4, Minecraft and Terraria.

What Are My Other Interests?

• I love documenting stuff outside of The Cutting Room Floor; I am a family genealogist, (semi-)regular Wiki contributor to sites such as Wikitubia; and I previously contributed 13,450 points of content to video game preservation site MobyGames (including 179 game entries, 100 sets of credits and over 300 sets of cover art, added to their database), as well as having approver status on the site. Note that I withdrew from MobyGames (under a different username) in 2020 due to mental health, and didn't return due to other life circumstances.
• I have numerous interests that I'm not an expert in but like to read up on from time to time, including genetics and psychology.
• My favourite film is a 2003 comedy called Johnny English that I've heavily hyperfixated on in the past. I also love The Simpsons (including, but not limited to, Steamed Hams) and Phineas & Ferb.
