Sonic CD PC Japan
The game was apparently not released for PC in Japan. It's not in the Japanese Steam storefront, and neither are Sonic 4 Episodes 1 and 2, Sonic Generations, nor Sonic Adventure DX for some reason. // Foxhack 15:03, 20 August 2012 (EDT)
- That's pretty strange, considering at least Sonic Generations has language customization... I guess Steam isn't as big? Oh well, I'll note it down. Thanks! LinkTheLefty 15:12, 20 August 2012 (EDT)
- A lot of games don't get released in Japan on the PC for some reason. I know a guy that lives there and he has to jump through hoops because if it isn't the publisher doing stupid stuff (like Square Enix forcing the game to be in Japanese even if it has multiple languages), it's Valve itself that doesn't release the game (Mafia II - 2K released the game but Valve took months to let people actually play it.) // Foxhack 15:53, 20 August 2012 (EDT)
- And check this out - Sega Japan doesn't even list the 2011 remake on their website! This is the only page they have, for the 1996 Windows version! // Foxhack 16:01, 20 August 2012 (EDT)
Mario VS Donkey Kong
That was stupid of me, as it is one of the rare games developed by NOA. --Hiccup (talk) 14:20, 28 October 2013 (EDT)
Monster Party Prototype
A large number of users have been collectively discussing and editing the article in IRC over the past few days. If you have any suggestions or concerns, please stop by the channel and voice them there instead of making large-scale changes to the page. Thanks! --BMF54123 (talk) 20:32, 5 July 2014 (EDT)
- Oh! I know this was a short while ago, but I didn't realize that certain things were already decided when I made my edits, so I apologize for that. I only spotted the discussion on the Talk Page, so I guess I got a little excited over the new prototype article. Though I could probably explain in greater detail why I made a few of the changes, since there was only so much I can put in the edit summary. LinkTheLefty (talk) 16:29, 21 July 2014 (EDT)
Blaster Master Japanese Story
Hey there, I noticed you changed the Jennifer Cornet bit from being the creator of the Metal Attacker to being the mechanic. Where did you see that info or did you translate that part from the manual yourself? ReyVGM (talk) 20:27, 23 November 2020 (UTC)
- In the edit summary, I mentioned that I went off an image I found of the main character profiles (here). Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find more scans of the original manual, but I cross-referenced online sources such as translations and transcripts to hopefully be as accurate as it can be. Best as I can gather, Jennifer is not mentioned in the main storyline text and is only detailed in that profile, where it calls her the tank's mechanic in katakana. I'm not sure what Sunsoft was exactly going for, but my guess is that she was supposed to have a bigger role and they didn't want a character design to go to waste. EDIT: There's a PDF of the manual here under OMAKE and it's about what I expected, so unless the guidebook says otherwise, she was only called a mechanic. AutumnMouse (talk) 00:55, 24 November 2020 (UTC)
- Well, everywhere I've seen she's supposed to be the tank's creator. Here's the Japanese manual in case you know how to translate from japanese: http://www.videogameden.com/fc/extra/mef.pdf and if you do translate it, let me know what's the real answer: creator or mechanic? - Thanks. And there's nothing else anywhere in the manual mentioning her being the creator of the tank or anything like that? Does it say who created the tank?ReyVGM (talk) 02:50, 24 November 2020 (UTC)
- It's not directly stated but I presume it's supposed to be a collaboration of scientists instead of the work of one character, which may be why BMZ2 MA docs state that other vehicles had their own development teams. AutumnMouse (talk) 03:21, 24 November 2020 (UTC)
- Ok great. Thanks for the info. Clears up a lot. ReyVGM (talk) 03:44, 24 November 2020 (UTC)
- Not a problem. By the way, if this is the same Rey from the VGMuseum, I appreciate your work! AutumnMouse (talk) 15:50, 25 November 2020 (UTC)
