Rearranging stolen ripped graphics

This might seem like a silly question but if a game has stolen graphics from another game and some of them are unused in the game that stole them but are not in the original source, would it be fine to not arrange the tiles and post them as how they appear in the tile editor? RE: Spelling and Grammar

Okay, I'll make sure that I try using the spell checker GlitterBerri recommended to me (I'm using it now). My native language isn't English, so the only option I had was to use Google Translate, which didn't help much. I'm very sorry. TempleofDreams (talk) 10:22, 30 November 2013 (EST)

Re:Counter-Strike Global Offensive Title

From Talk:Battlefield 3:

Usually, for games without title screens, we take a screenshot of the first pre-game menu, or whatever screen has the game's title on it somewhere.

Has there been a change of heart about this? The image uploaded was of the first screen you see upon loading the game, which would seem to fit. -TheKins (talk) 05:49, 5 December 2013 (EST)

After seeing that menu, I think we're going to have to change our "title screen" policies a bit. There's virtually nothing there that identifies it as belonging to CS:GO (in fact, I thought it was just the generic Steam UI at first). The fact that it's almost entirely dynamic content (e.g. news updates and friend lists) and thus changes on a daily basis makes it even worse. --BMF54123 (talk) 16:13, 5 December 2013 (EST)
True, I was actually gonna pipe in about this myself, but TheKins beat me to it. DotA 2 is the same, IIRC, and I don't know if we have an article for DotA 2 yet (I should check). Personally, I'm surprised that Valve hasn't done the same for games like Team Fortress 2, but I do agree that title screen policies need a bit of a change in regards to dynamic content homescreens. 404: User Not Found (talk) 16:27, 5 December 2013 (EST)
Yes, we do have a Dota 2 article. In fact, if you check the Recent Changes, BMF just deleted the Dota 2 "title screen". --AquaBat (talk) 16:32, 5 December 2013 (EST)

New Portal intro

You sir are amazing. That is by far the greatest article intro on this site (prove me wrong people, prove me wrong :P) 404: User Not Found (talk) 20:31, 7 December 2013 (EST)

I just copied it from the game... --BMF54123 (talk) 20:34, 7 December 2013 (EST)
Oh....it's been ages since I played Portal. Oops! 404: User Not Found (talk) 21:20, 7 December 2013 (EST)

With all due respect

With all due respect, I have to ask this: Block me for what? What I said was not "mouthing off". If I had told you to go....well you get the idea, then yes if I were you, I'd block me. But I didn't. I was asking a simple question that required a simple answer, and no edit summary attitude. What I said to you was said with all due respect, and yet you've chosen to take it as me mouthing off to you, and it saddens me to see this side of you. It's at this point that I'm going to get back to gathering images up on my desktop that need to be uploaded for the Team Fortress 2 article, as well as some for the Left 4 Dead 2 article. Hopefully you don't take this the wrong way. 404: User Not Found (talk) 04:04, 10 December 2013 (EST)

Dude. I'm not sure if you realize this, but your initial message on that file's talk page was what prompted BMF's annoyance in his response to you. "Not sure why BMF felt it necessary to replace a perfectly good image with the same bloody thing," wasn't exactly a detached observation that gave BMF the benefit of the doubt. Try saying "Hi there, I'm curious about why BMF replaced the image Chpexo uploaded? I did a a side-by-side comparison and they both seem to have the same colour palette," next time. Statements like "It saddens me to see this side of you," come off as rude, extremely smug, and just fuel the fire. If you want to keep using this wiki, please respect its members. Their attitudes reflect how you treat them. --GlitterBerri (talk) 04:20, 10 December 2013 (EST)

God dammit, I thought I wrote it better than that. And I just read my message above too. Did I really make myself look like that big of a dick? Jeeesus. I am in serious need of sleep right now. I'm just...I'm just gonna go get some sleep before I get myself into any more trouble. Ladies and gentlemen, this is your brain on sleep deprivation. Don't be like me and deprive yourself of sleep. Sorry BMF, for bein' a dick! Nighty night! 404: User Not Found (talk) 04:29, 10 December 2013 (EST)

Should probably let you know this

The Upload Wizard tool is borked :( I downloaded and installed Chrome (because I normally use Firefox) and it doesn't work on either browser. Same goes for IE.

Here's the errors that appeared in Chrome's debugging window:

(snip)

I did a little looking around and it seems there are other reports of this module not working. There's also other tools, one of which is called MsUpload. Just thought I'd let you know, because I ended up having to upload 100+ OGG files for the Team Fortress 2/Unused Sounds subpage one by one, due to the Upload Wizard not working. 404: User Not Found (talk) 17:20, 10 December 2013 (EST)

We're aware of the issue and are waiting on someone with backend access to upload the fix. --BMF54123 (talk) 17:23, 10 December 2013 (EST)
Ahh, good to know! I'd help fix it, but I'm not good with that particular coding language (sadfaec) 404: User Not Found (talk) 17:24, 10 December 2013 (EST)

URL

Because I added another link to SmashWiki in the unused bonuses section and having two is of kind of useless... did I do something wrong, again? For my knowledge, if the name of a game is multiple times in a page of another game, you only add a link to it the first time it is mentioned, right? TempleofDreams (talk) 18:32, 13 December 2013 (EST)

I don't really mind if multiple source tags link to the same website. For things like game links, yes, only one link is usually needed. --BMF54123 (talk) 18:34, 13 December 2013 (EST)

Bad DS emulation

The emulator they are using is DeSmuME - with the 3D renderer set to 'SoftRasterizer' which has scaling issues. 'OpenGL' does not. I noted this on the help page for emulator screenshots a while ago. That page is buried a bit, so not many people may be reading it.--Hiccup (talk) 06:20, 1 January 2014 (EST)

Hey BMF54123

you should make a bot for new users. You Forgot The Minor Details! (talk) 16:31, 30 January 2014 (EST)

What do you mean? What kind of bot? --BMF54123 (talk) 16:43, 30 January 2014 (EST)
A Bot that welcomes users. You Forgot The Minor Details! (talk) 18:18, 30 January 2014 (EST)
Uh, no, that's really not something we need. Especially with our spambot problem. --BMF54123 (talk) 18:22, 30 January 2014 (EST)

GT PSP

you know, download a iso (not passing link) and a emulator plus cheats and find a way to find more unused courses on the game. what you think?

Do whatever you want to do. I'm not interested. --BMF54123 (talk) 21:01, 22 March 2014 (EDT)

N64 original graphics

Hey, I didn't know where else to post this, so I thought I would just tell the owner directly.

Since you have rules here for screenshots, I thought I let you know about a somewhat new plugin for N64 emulators that give you pixel-accurate graphics (yes, with all the trademark N64 filters and fog), apparently it has been verified by the MESS team to be accurate (read more at the link below). The original plugin was done by a guy called Angrylion, but he used a fixed non-standard resolution of 1024x768. So another guy called HatCat took that plugin and released a modified version that allowed you use the pixel-accurate plugin showing the N64's correct res of 320x240 and one for N64 games with high-res (640x480), such as Turok 2 (download link below). Some other games (such as Goldeneye) use a non-standard resolution of 440x326 on some parts. Sadly no plugin supports that yet.

Problem is the plugin is barebones, it doesn't even have a screenshot button. That guy HatCat is working on his own pixel-accurate plugin with all the graphic and screenshot options one would need. But for now, if you want pixel accurate graphics, the plugin on the link below is what needs to be used.

Of course, since it has all the N64 filters enabled, it's also really slow. I have a quad-core CPU and games run from medium, to slow on busy parts of the games. The good thing is you can play a game with ANY faster graphic plugin, then switch to the pixel-accurate plugin and take your screenshot. Although, you have to use an eternal screenshot program or use Printscreen.

Another thing, since we have been accustomed for so many years to N64 emulation using sharp high-res graphics textures, or even using SoftGraphics Plugins, that offer no enhancements but also remove all the bilinear filters and antialiasing the N64 was so infamous for, it's hard to stomach that games looked that blurry when using this plugin. But rest assured, they did. I don't know if you ever played N64, but the "blurriness" was one of the most criticized aspects of the console.

You can read more about it here, with image examples: http://forum.pj64-emu.com/showthread.php?t=3739&page=19

And you can download the plugin from here, with some image examples: http://forum.pj64-emu.com/showthread.php?p=53062

I know it's a lot of work to get it right, but I thought I'd let you know about this since TCRF always try to be as accurate as possible. ReyVGM (talk) 10:00, 7 April 2014 (EDT)

I played a ton of N64 games back when the console was still new, so yeah, I'm well aware of how the graphics are supposed to look. ;)
Thanks for the info! I knew about angrylion's work, but I wasn't aware a plugin had been released. Hopefully it continues to improve and become more usable and user-friendly. --BMF54123 (talk) 15:23, 7 April 2014 (EDT)
Cool. I'll let you know if there are any further developments. ReyVGM (talk) 16:28, 7 April 2014 (EDT)
No kidding. N64 consistency I'm at a loss. AKI wrestling games looking letterboxed, WTF? Theclaw (talk) 05:16, 8 April 2014 (EDT)
I have no idea what you just said... ReyVGM (talk) 14:03, 8 April 2014 (EDT)

Prerelease Criminal Case

Hey, I know that prerelease pages of games without a main article shouldn't be accepted, but there are a lot of promotional images of Criminal Case showing early versions of various crime scenes. What should I do? Please answer. TempleofDreams (talk) 19:29, 14 April 2014 (EDT)

Well, technically, the rules only state that this applies to new games that can't be dumped/hacked yet (e.g. 3DS), since we can't verify whether or not the content was removed from the final game. I guess I don't see a problem with making an article in this case. What console is the game for? --BMF54123 (talk) 19:48, 14 April 2014 (EDT)
It's an computer game, like Transformice. It can be played in Facebook. TempleofDreams (talk) 19:58, 14 April 2014 (EDT)

Pac-Man(Arcade) bug

Yo, 24Hz added an exploit to the main page. Going to move this to the bugs page, but should these be included on the wiki at all? --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 13:00, 18 April 2014 (EDT)

Technically not a bug, but rather a limitation/oversight in the AI, so I'd say no. It's akin to finding a safe spot in a boss's attack pattern, which we also would not cover. --BMF54123 (talk) 13:27, 18 April 2014 (EDT)
Would the pathfinder glitch in both the Pinky AI and the Inky AI count? I ask since it is an oversight in the programming. Link --Sgv Sth (talk) 21:34, 21 April 2014 (EDT)

Useless Edit

Sorry about the useless edit to my talk page I did.I have not been a member of a wiki for a while and I have forgotten about certain things.I did read the rules of this wiki if you are wondering and sorry if this does not meet the criteria to be on your page but I could not contact you any other way to apologize.Again,sorry.I will try not to do it again. --Kooballyflootzet (talk) 2:46, 30 April 2014 (EDT)

Name entry screen

Thanks for catching that. It appears I am using a bad dump of the ROM. Sure enough, it shows up on [!p] in Nestopia. Matchstick (talk) 19:03, 3 May 2014 (EDT)
