Pre-release Images
When uploading pre-release images, it is totally fine to upload the original JPG you find online. The no-PNG policy does not apply to pre-release content. -Ehm (talk) 19:16, 1 October 2016 (EDT)
- Additionally, you can reverse image search any pre-release images you find to see if there is a better version available. Simply take the URL of the image you have (in this example, let's use the Bob-omb Battlefield spire image here:
http://www.angelfire.com/pro/glitches/betapics/kingbomb.jpg
), and paste the URL in Google to search. It will come up with zero results, and ask if you would like to "Search By Image". If there are suitable matches, you will see the image at the top of the results, followed by "Find other sizes of this image". Click on "All Sizes", and voila! We've got a version with no site URL written on top :) -Ehm (talk) 19:24, 1 October 2016 (EDT)
- Dude thanks... I'll work on finding better images then. Most of the time I had been taking .png screenshots of the images for convenience rofl. (A couple of them are also screenshots of footage, maybe video links would be better.) Also I'm now aware that I've uploaded the boo key image while there's already the same one on the main page for Mario 64. (I had checked under the prerelease image category but not the main Mario 64 category.) Can I delete an image? Thanks B) Catstorm (talk) 19:56, 1 October 2016 (EDT)
SM64 Prerelease Demo Text Translation
Hey there, I'm really happy to see someone's working on the SM64 prerelease page! Awesome stuff. I look forward to keeping up with your edits. :) I see that you have some partial transcriptions of Japanese demo text on your user page. I assume it's hard to make out from the original footage, but if you can link me to the footage where it appears, or screenshot it for me, I might be able to help figure out what it says. --GlitterBerri (talk) 19:36, 29 January 2017 (EST)
- Hi GlitterBerri, glad to hear that you want to help. All of the text comes from the Shoshinkai footage video. The Lethal Lava Land text can be seen here at 5:09, the Cool Cool Mountain text can be seen at 6:28 and at 7:10, and the text when you enter the castle can be seen at 4:50. The kana is pretty blurry on all of these. There is a separate, clear screenshot of the text seen when the demo begins, so I was able to finish that one completely. Thank you so much for helping though, this was where I've been stuck for a couple months. --Catstorm (talk) 16:33, 30 January 2017 (EST)
