File Deletion
I was wondering if you could remove both copies of http://tcrf.net/File:KI2_Kim_Wu_Spirit_Move.gif when possible. I have created a new higher quality version of this file, though either my browser is caching the file, or the re-upload of this file is not working. Any help is appreciated. --Abystus 01:09, 17 May 2013 (EDT)
Thanks
Appreciate the help. Hopefully the next upload works.
So I see you're deleting things
Mind halpin' me? These things need deletan': [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6], [7], [8], [9] and [10]. Thanks :D 404: User Not Found (talk) 22:30, 17 April 2013 (EDT)

- And thank you for pitching in and helping me (mostly), and Einstein clear the Uncategorized Files log! I already went and cleared as much of the Uncategorized Pages log as I could, but the remaining pages on the log...well I can't figure out how to categorize them without breaking things, so I left a message for BMF, asking him what to do. 404: User Not Found (talk) 23:46, 5 May 2013 (EDT)

Halo CEA Image files
I couldn't upload them at 1280x720 because the filesize was way too big. --Errorjack 15:35, 6 May 2013 (EDT)
- Yikes. Sorry about that. And this after using PNGCrush to get them down in filesize? On that note, you can upload the images elsewhere and use this site's upload thingy to upload it.--From: divingkataetheweirdo 15:36, 6 May 2013 (EDT)

Thanks for that music rip from Quest 64 and conversion to an .ogg file! What's your method? -Chpexo 02:42, 18 May 2013 (EDT)
- Basically, I used Winamp to convert the soundtrack from a USF rip to a lossless PCM file, then convert it to a .ogg again with Audacity. --From: divingkataetheweirdo 03:06, 18 May 2013 (EDT)
Double Dragon (Amstrad CPC, Richard Aplin)
I've done a bit of research, and should we identify this by the programmer (Richard Aplin) as it is currently or the developer (Binary Design vs. Animagic), the year (1988 vs. 1989), or the media (Disk vs. Tape)?
- Einstein95 18:42, 20 May 2013 (EDT)
- My vote goes for company on the title name, programmer / format on the article. // Foxhack 18:52, 20 May 2013 (EDT)
- I went with the author, as I wasn't sure if the other version was released in 1989. Technically speaking, both versions have Binary Design credited. I also wouldn't do stuff based on medium, unless I'm absolutely sure that no author is credited or no date is assigned. --From: divingkataetheweirdo 19:02, 20 May 2013 (EDT)
- The Aplin version (based on the Amiga / AtariST version) was published by Virgin Mastertronic, while the other one (based on the Spectrum version) was published by Melbourne House, at least according to Double Dragon Dojo. Since there's precedent for using a company name to separate two games with the same name but different publisher (see Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade on NES), I'd move this to Double Dragon (Amstrad CPC, Virgin Mastertronic). // Foxhack 19:51, 20 May 2013 (EDT)
- I've moved the Aplin version elsewhere as you suggested, Foxhack. Although, it is worth noting the two brands (Mastertronic and Melbourne) were both part of Virgin. =/ --From: divingkataetheweirdo 19:57, 20 May 2013 (EDT)

JPEG
Sorry about that, won't happen again, but I have to ask, why exactly are you guys against jpegs? SMB123 15:30, 22 June 2013 (EDT)
- Pretty much for clarity purposes. If you've been outside of TCRF, you'll notice sprite rips in .jpeg format. Compare those to .png format. JPEGs are only suitable for IRL photographs, since they have noise added over the picture. This is an example of how crud .jpegs are (PNG on the left, JPEG on the right). --From: divingkataetheweirdo 15:39, 22 June 2013 (EDT)

Luigi's mansion dark moon? we are fans and it is not on her! DONT DELETE IT EVER AGAIN! — The preceding unsigned comment was added by Nymphia (talk • contribs)
- I'm sorry, but no. This is not how the wiki is run. I acknowledge that you are a fan of Dark Moon. There are regional differences for the game. However, you added nothing of worthiness in terms of this wiki's scope. All you documented was the game's naming history, which isn't notable in the context of this wiki, as it isn't really unused content in of itself. Furthermore, the 3DS has yet to be emulated in a proper format and there aren't even simple hacks for the 3DS as of yet, so we don't know what is unused. In the meantime, I strongly suggest reading the guidelines before contributing any further. --From: divingkataetheweirdo 15:49, 4 July 2013 (EDT)

Spam on TCR
Hey, what can we do to stop thoses spam bots from making accounts? They are annoying. --From: JeanMich02 01:02, 14 October 2013 (EDT)
- We can't block 100% of spambot registrations without either resorting to very user-unfriendly methods or disabling registration entirely. There is no "one size fits all" solution to the problem because spammers are constantly updating their software to work around the latest blocking methods. --BMF54123 (talk) 01:38, 14 October 2013 (EDT)

I'm using the latest Firefox, so I'm wondering if this is a known issue. 404: User Not Found (talk) 19:53, 6 December 2013 (EST)
- It's tough to say, because I've certainly never really heard of that before. I think one or two users have brought it up in the forum before. Odd since the Wikimedia blog has a thing about uploading a million files. Can you take a screenshot of it? More likely, it wants a bunch of needless info filled in before it's uploaded.--From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 20:04, 6 December 2013 (EST)
- Basically, you can drag and drop files onto the "wizard" and they begin "uploading" (though they aren't really uploaded onto the site yet). Once they've "uploaded", you're supposed to click the "Continue" button to move to the next part of the wizard which is Licensing, and then again to the description. However, the Continue button does not advance the wizard to the next page. With problems like this, we really should get rid of the bloody thing and switch to something different. There's the original Special:MultiUpload, and there's also something else I've seen called MsUpload. 404: User Not Found (talk) 20:10, 6 December 2013 (EST)
- Oh, and our upload wizard seems to have a hardcoded file limit of 50 files, but the bloody thing counts wrong and only uploads 49. 404: User Not Found (talk) 20:11, 6 December 2013 (EST)

Korean StarCraft page?
So with this new page translation thing, do you think we can try to get a Korean StarCraft page? Chaossy - The Computer Geek (talk) 00:59, 24 December 2013 (EST)
- Pages are marked for translation and individual users can then translate any page into their native language. Currently, we are trying to localize the help and intro pages into any languages we can without resorting to automatic translation tool. I'd say we do that in Korean before doing the StarCraft page. I'm also curious if you can speak/write Korean to a proficient degree to translate it.--From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 01:35, 24 December 2013 (EST)
- Alright, that's a good start. And for the latter question, sadly I don't. I'm mainly into Japanese but since StarCraft is big in Korea, I thought it wouldn't hurt to do that page in Korean. Chaossy - The Computer Geek (talk) 01:43, 24 December 2013 (EST)
Three things about translating
I'd like to translate some of TCRF's pages, as per the most recent project going on, and I have three questions. First, would it be fine to translate to European Portuguese? I can see a Brazilian Portuguese translation is underway, but both version of Portuguese vary a fair bit, so making an European one wouldn't hurt, would it? Secondly, I can see "Translate this page" at the top of, for instance, the main page, and I've looked around the page it takes me to for a bit. There's nothing complicated about it, is there? People who want to translate just go to that page and do it, right? Thirdly, shouldn't the translation guidelines point out somewhere that when people translate the main page into a different language, that they should point out that the majority of TCRF's articles are in English? Otherwise, people who come around and are, say, Italian, will notice a fully Italian front page, assume the site works in Italian, and contribute with a new game page fully in Italian! {EspyoT} 13:34, 24 December 2013 (EST)
- Her are my responses to your questions:
- Go right ahead and do it in European Portuguese.
- It's a bit difficult to do it at first. It involves using a translate template <translate><!--T1--> to mark out which portions need translating.
- That's actually a good point. In foreign language pages, we will indeed point that out.--From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 13:59, 24 December 2013 (EST)
Translation
I would like to translate some pages into German. GermanPokemon (talk) 10:12, 26 December 2013 (EST)
- At the moment, we're currently translating the various help pages and the intro pages into various languages. You can click on "Translate this page" on these select pages, as well as a few games like Wind Waker. --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 13:15, 26 December 2013 (EST)
- I can do that :D Are the Wind Waker subpages translateable?
- GermanPokemon (talk) 13:48, 26 December 2013 (EST)
- They can be translated now. I've marked them for translation. --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 13:56, 26 December 2013 (EST)

Moving WIP pages to userspace
I'm doing preliminary work on Angel of Darkness, and I tried to move it, but I couldn't get it under my username. How did you do it? WhoIAm (talk) 18:49, 14 March 2014 (EDT)
- After selecting User, you want to add your username, followed by a '/', at the beginning of the page name. So, it would be "WhoIAm/Tomb Raider:The Angel of Darkness", along with a "User" namespace selected. --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 18:51, 14 March 2014 (EDT)

That's not a model render; its from the game. In the single player mode, the game shows an image of a character you'll be facing in a black box with text about the character overlaid on the model. I just snapped an image before the text was printed. http://media.moddb.com/images/mods/1/3/2618/ladder.jpg is an example of how it looks in-game. Teflon (talk) 20:59, 22 March 2014 (EDT)

Thanks for helping with my files
I was unsure how to use the Upload Wizard properly. Good guess too, they were taken from the 360 version (as I mentioned once on the talk page I initially got all these files in strange chimpunk quality - because I was trying to rip them from the PS3 version). --DrTremolo (talk) 18:46, 15 June 2014 (EDT)
The cartoon icons from Maelstrom
The icons you uploaded as being included in versions 1.3~1.3.2 are based on two recognizable characters from Berkeley Breathed's work - specifically, Opus the Penguin and Bill the Cat. I didn't want to jump in while you were still editing the page, but I imagine they were almost certainly removed due to fear of copyright infringement. 7HeroesForceBattle (talk) 00:57, 5 August 2014 (EDT)

Harry Potter PC games, Aspyr
So, now that we've split the Macintosh category, is it OK to add Aspyr as the Mac publisher for the Harry Potter PC games? --BreakingBenny (talk) 09:41, 7 August 2014 (EDT)
- Definitely. Keep in mind the first two Harry Potter games were ported for both the Mac OS Classic and Mac OS X. They also never got past the second game, instead repackaging the first two games into a deluxe edition. --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 15:48, 7 August 2014 (EDT)
Is this allowed?
Hi, so I'm planning to make an article, but there's no known unused things yet, instead, there was a prototype version of the game. Is it okay if I make a prototype article, but no main article for the game? --EP41 (talk) 20:35, 7 August 2014 (EDT)
- Put in a user page first. I'd prefer not to make a prototype article, until something for the game itself is up. This is mostly because it can be hard to access it. --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 20:55, 7 August 2014 (EDT)
Wrong Tags
So I uploaded 2 screenshots from an Demo of Gran Turismo 2 which will be used in my User Sub-Page (Gran Turismo 2 Proto). The problem is that i've tagged them as Prerelease images but now that I added them, I realised that these are screenshots from a released version of the game and therefore don't fall into that category. Is it possible to remove those tags now?
A huge sorry for this f***-up, it will not happen again!

Hi, you think you could help out a little with the Penumbra article? I'm currently the only one doing stuff on it, besides you having moved it from being "Proto". --BreakingBenny (talk) 14:06, 22 August 2014 (EDT)
- Sorry, but I can't yet. I currently don't have copy of the tech demo. If I do get it though, I'll be more than happy to help. Keep in mind, it's going to get really busy over here soon (Hurray for school). --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 14:15, 22 August 2014 (EDT)
- It's actually as easy as clicking on a link to where the stuff can be downloaded and installing it. 'Thing was originally not a commercial product, but got a good reputation lead it to becoming a game series. --BreakingBenny (talk) 18:21, 22 August 2014 (EDT)
- Thank you for posting up a link. I will get around to this soon. --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 00:18, 22 December 2014 (EST)

SRB2
i've added the changelog (2.1.0 to 2.1.11) to my sandbox page, should it be moved to the main page? Roakidiot (talk) 17:03, 31 August 2014 (EDT)
- Try cleaning it up and putting some formatting in there before moving it. At the moment, it's pretty sloppily done, so keep it there until it's a bit cleaner. --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 17:17, 31 August 2014 (EDT)
i agree, i copypasted it from SRB2.org.
SRB2 Changelog cleaned up + a question
I've cleaned up the sandbox as you asked, so now it can be moved to the main page. Also, why we only cover few PC-98 Games? Guidelines? i readed them. Roakidiot (talk) 16:17, 1 September 2014 (EDT)
- It definitely is much improved and I'll give you permission to post it. We only cover a few PC-98 games because there aren't so many people looking into PC-98 games here. They also aren't looked over as often. If you have any questions about a guideline, feel free to ask me.--From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 18:15, 1 September 2014 (EDT)
Overdue Thing
Hey. I recall something about a project you were working on for TCRF? I've been looking for you so I could sent you my signature thing. If we could reach one another, that would be great. Cheers --OKeijiDragon 01:02, 17 October 2014 (EDT)
- You can post your signature up here. I'm waiting for other people to do their signatures too. --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 01:26, 17 October 2014 (EDT)
- Done! Thanks for asking me to contribute. --OKeijiDragon 02:14, 17 October 2014 (EDT)
Translating
So apparently I am the sole guy who wields the Polish language on this wiki. I fixed some of Red and Blue translation (it was so outdated that I had to manually edit the thing just to confirm that some sections were translated, as text was in wrong places; I went a little overboard and translated one of the subpages, although apparently neither is within the translation process). Also the templates that were "translated" into Polish, had... poor quality (this got fixed). The page says to contact either you or that other user (who's inactive for a year). Centaurio (talk) 07:28, 15 December 2014 (EST)
PS. Nevermind on the inactivity, I had a derp and looked at the wrong place.
- I can assure you that you aren't the only Polish speaker here. Directxd also speaks it, as does Krysztal. But as for editors, I'll admit we could use some help here and there too. Thank you for fixing the template and the translation. I'm not certain what you want help with, but I will update the version used for translation first. Yes, you are supposed to sign when you leave a comment on the talk page. --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 16:47, 15 December 2014 (EST)
- I was referring to the post scriptum part (since it's written after signing the letter or such). Also, Krysztal has no activity since August from what I've seen. Centaurio (talk) 04:42, 16 December 2014 (EST)
- Whoops. As far as I know, most users here put the P.S. part before the signature, but after the main thing they want to say. And yeah, I'll admit Krysztal has been inactive for a long time. --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 04:52, 16 December 2014 (EST)

DB articles
So I don't know about the correct names to be used, but I changed some of the DB articles (some of them were reverted back) with the Japanese characters, but today someone moved them without the Japanese characters. Should they stay like that or should they have the Japanese characters? Chaossy - The Computer Geek (talk) 23:38, 5 February 2015 (EST)
- They weren't so much Japanese characters as much as they were different ways to romanize it. (Example: うう is romanized here as "uu" (rather than ū like in Hepburn or û like in Nihon-shiki). They're good the way they are at the moment, as the current titles are more like the JSL romanizations of the titles.--From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 01:54, 6 February 2015 (EST)
About Lunar: Silver Star and Snatcher
Hello. I saw that you were asking if I know any debug stuff from Silver Star or Snatcher. I`m sorry but I don`t. I don`t know much about debug settings on games. What I do know is that Snatcher has a lot of version and regional differences, and I`m pretty sure the Working Design team made a lot of changes to Silver Star when they translated and localized it in America. I`m sorry, I`m still new to this stuff. I really want to help you guys out, but it`s kind of hard to navigate through tcrf website.
Mr. Kite (talk) 06:51, 6 February 2015 (EST)
- That's okay. Sometimes, it takes little effort to enable debug menus (simply reenabling it through a config file). I'm curious to know how it's hard to navigate through the website. --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 12:02, 6 February 2015 (EST)
The reason why it`s hard to navigate through tcrf is because it`s hard for me navigate to my inbox and also because I have no idea how to add videos or images on pages. Personally I think it would be better for me to explain some of the version/regional differences in the games since I know a lot more about it than debugging. I already posted some regional differences for a couple of games but they haven`t been updated to the list of regional differences. I`m still new to this so can you please explain more about posting images and videos? Thank you.
Mr. Kite (talk) 12:37, 6 February 2015 (EST)
- To add new images to a page, simply enter [[File:(insert_file_name.file_ext)]], where file_ext is the file extension (like .png or .gif). As for uploading an image, click "Upload File" in the toolbox and enter {{screenshot|(Insert system name here)}} if you want to upload a screenshot. Replace (Insert system name here) with the system the game was released on. As for posting videos, you can do it through YT with <youtube width="280" height="200" align="right">(Insert Video ID here)</youtube>. This section can help you out quite a bit with the images. --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 14:46, 6 February 2015 (EST)
Oops
Thanks for the fix on that subpage icon I added, sorry about the mistag. Incidentally, should there be a category for those? It's not exactly a ripped graphic, and it would be helpful for keeping those items tagged. // Foxhack 12:46, 11 February 2015 (EST)
404's User Page
I know this really isn't my business, but since you just edited the page again today, I should tell you that both of those pastebin docs are expired. --AquaBat (talk) 15:10, 21 February 2015 (EST)
- I'm aware of this and I do have the logs in question, but not on the computer I'm typing this on. I plan to more permanently store them here in the near future once I regain access to those.--From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 15:14, 21 February 2015 (EST)
Hello. Is it okay for me to create the "MediEvil series" navigation template for both MediEvil and MediEvil II article?--Gjlewis (talk) 17:30, 21 February 2015 (EST)
- Somewhat nervous to. You can go ahead and do it, but keep in mind the MEII page is in quite bad condition. --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 14:53, 22 February 2015 (EST)
It's good to be back
Hey diving, it's been a long time since we last talked. I did something really stupid and got blocked for it. I'm back now though and ready to finish the Trespasser stuff up. I'm also going to try and dedicate myself to the Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind page as well. (lots of unused goodies in that game). As you can probably also tell, I have started uploading Trespasser design documents. I know it's a little weird and all, but hopefully It's considered useful information for the wiki. --Glisp (talk) 20:50, 28 February 2015 (EST)
- Welcome back. I'll be fixing up the grammar for the existing Trespasser pages soon. I actually like the idea of uploading the design docs and I would like to see more of these in the future. I'll be also working on Daggerfall stuff soon, since that's still pretty underdeveloped. --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 22:40, 28 February 2015 (EST)
Yeah, there's a few more design documents, including Hammond and Anne's scripts (though the one I have for Hammond seems to be missing the unrecorded bits of script.) There's some fun documents that came with the source. They seem to have been designed to aid developers new to the team in helping with the source and also other commands.--Glisp (talk) 23:20, 28 February 2015 (EST)
