Moving Pages

Please create a talk page next time you'd like to move a page and explain why. The mass movement of Battletoads pages was a mess and unnecessary. -Ehm (talk) 16:17, 4 August 2016 (EDT)

How is listing games by their proper names unnecessary? Why did you move the pages back to their unofficial titles? The preceding unsigned comment was added by Dantk (talk • contribs)
How do you know that Battletoads/Double Dragon is the official title? Does it say on the box? --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 18:43, 4 August 2016 (EDT)
It says it in the game manual and on the box and the title screen, there clearly is no & in the title. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Dantk (talk • contribs)
I see no forward slash on the box either. -Ehm (talk) 18:45, 4 August 2016 (EDT)
It should be noted that the ROM header of the Genesis version has "Battletoads and Double Dragon" for both title fields. But yes, I do see this in the NES manual. Curious about the other versions. Nintendo's own official NES game list and official SNES game list also lists this as "Battletoads & Double Dragon."--From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 18:46, 4 August 2016 (EDT)

Where do you see an & symbol in the title? All the game boxes say Battletoads Double Dragon all the title screens says Battletoads Double Dragon: The Ultimate Team. The game manual says Battletoads/Double Dragon. http://www.digitpress.com/library/manuals/nes/Battletoads%20&%20Double%20Dragon.pdf The title The Battletoads & Double Dragon is never used. Yep, that's the NES maual I mentioned earlier. I'd still like to see the Game Boy, Genesis and SNES manuals, though. Here's Nintendo's official list for Game Boy games (with the & there), but I don't see any trademark applications for this. Also, the forward slash could break pages, since the wiki syntax interprets forward slashes as subpages. There's no forward slash in the game's name either in the title screen, which is why we had it at Battletoads Double Dragon.--From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 18:58, 4 August 2016 (EDT)
As a compromise, I've moved the pages to Battletoads Double Dragon and have left them there. I apologize for the frustration, Ehm and Dantk. --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 19:25, 4 August 2016 (EDT)

No you had it at Battletoads & Double Dragon I changed it to Battletoads Double Dragon. Also what about the subtitle "The Ultimate Team"? The Double Dragon pages have their subtitles, The Revenge, The Rosetta Stone and The Sacred Stones. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Dantk (talk • contribs)

You actually moved them to Battletoads Double Dragon, then to Battletoads/Double Dragon. I eventually moved it back to the Battletoads Double Dragon, since that is the title screen's name. I've now added "The Ultimate Team" to the pages' names too. --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 19:37, 4 August 2016 (EDT)

Mega Man titles

Mega Man 2 through Mega Man 7 have always been referred to by their respective numbers in the US and Europe, not the title screen's Roman numerals. Some publications like Nintendo Power might've used them but they are almost always known as the former. The only ones widely known as using numerals are Mega Man II-V on the Game Boy. Something like "Mega Man III (US/EU title screen) might be more suitable." --gxmighty (talk) 17:22, 19 March 2023 (UTC)
