Pokemon Confusion

Empty Files

About the xbox version of ESIII

I have not played it myself. However, the XBox version was built off of the PC version's code so it has most if not all of the content present on the PC version. (the exception being able to mod and install mods.) most of the broken quests, bugs, and other things are present. There are a few differences but they're mostly related to hardware differences between the xbox and PC. There are also a few bugs that were introduced only in the Xbox version. The Xbox version also wasn't revised as much as the PC version. So I guess they are a bit different. Though is it different enough? --Glisp (talk) 13:15, 1 March 2015 (EST)

Port

In regards to the Super Street Fighter 4 edit: "We don't document differences between ports, but kept the revisional change". Are you sure? Because there are several game pages that have differences between ports, such as Megaman Legends (between PS1 and N64 versions) and I've added a lot of "version differences" regarding ports to several games. Or do you mean that since SSF4AE is the original one, that I shouldn't add version differences about the versions that came AFTER it? ReyVGM (talk) 04:40, 10 March 2015 (EDT)

EA college football in the 16-bit era

Hey! Thanks for looking over the article.

A bit about the series... The EA college series begins with Bill Walsh College Football ('94) in 1993. BWCF also got a '95 version (like Madden the '95 version covers 1994). The original ('94) came out on the Genesis, SNES and the Sega CD but none of the other entries got CD releases, and only CFB USA 97 got on the SNES after that.

In 1996 the game became College Football USA and expanded from 36 teams to include all of NCAA Division I-A (108 teams) and actually could use their real names. CFB USA 97: The Road to New Orleans, which was one of just two to see an SNES release as well, has 111 (actually 112) teams (all the changes mirrored actual teams adding and dropping Div. I-A football) and is a generally improved game with menu graphics and other changes.

CFB USA 97 should probably have an article but for some reason the copy I have only shows every other character of text. It does seem to have all the stadium name oddities of CFB USA 96 (except Pacific, which dropped football).

After '97 EA got the rights to use the NCAA's likeness and the NCAA Football series began under that name in 1998, but it was entirely on the PlayStation. Raymie (talk) 02:59, 3 April 2015 (EDT)

Proto:F-15 Strike Eagle III - deleted reference

Hi, why did you remove the reference to the file format details from Proto:F-15 Strike Eagle III? It is related information readers may be interested in, and in fact would need to know about if they want to find more stuff that is "on the cutting room floor" in this game. I removed it as we normally don't do references on pages like that. I was going to include it in a link in brackets but it seemed unnecessary. EarthBound Beginnings

You reverted the regional differences being moved because the Proto:Mother page "talks about an actual Proto cart". However, all of the changes seen in the prototype have been found in EarthBound Beginnings, and almost everyone assumes that it's a direct emulation of the former prototype ROM. Even if the latter isn't necessarily true, the former point still stands, making the Proto page all but redundant anyway. Mother was only released in its official form in Japan. "Earthbound Beginnings" is only used in the title of the VC release, which is equivalent to boxart. This name is not reflected on the title screen, which is what we base article names on. -Einstein95 (talk) 19:20, 20 July 2015 (EDT)

Ratchet & Clank series

I'm sorry for what happened some moments ago, I didn't know. By the way, since you're an active Admin, may I ask some questions that are not included in the guidelines? I'm a huge R&C fan, and I have unearthed lots of unused/early content and I'm co-developing a program to extract compressed textures from all the games, which will also include demos or actual proto builds.

What I'm asking is, how do we deal with 3D animations? Do I have to make a Youtube video to show them off? And for unused 3D content, is part of a focused screenshot (I can change the camera wherever I want) good enough that I don't have to extract the model and render it separately? Also, I have extracted a bunch of 8-bit textures with a 32-bit palette for alpha, which means they will lose a channel when saved as .gifs, but I wanted to show off how these textures worked when blent together by changing alpha values, but this basically means I have to create really elaborate .gifs which will probably look bad. Any suggestions or I'll just leave the textures without reproducing any behavior?

  1. A YouTube video is fine, or you can make an animated .gif if there isn't too much loss.
  2. Yeah that's fine although the latter is preferred.
  3. We prefer .pngs for images, unless they're animated. .pngs would (most probably) not have any of the transparency issues .gifs have.

The problem with PNGs is that I don't know how to animate them, and they probably won't work in anything but Firefox. Also please forgive me for this, but I forgot to ask the most important question: I have lots of unused audio cues to upload, probably more than a hundred, is there any way to do it with the less hassle possible? How to get clean screenshots without wasting time

Hi, I'm the guy who just made the prerelease page for Sonic Jam (Game.com). I was just wondering, what software did you use to capture the screen and then crop it? I just used snipping tool, but the entire window was captured, and I had to approximate how to crop the thing. I have the same problem with nullDC shots. WhoIAm (talk) 12:08, 30 July 2015 (EDT)

Tri Force Heroes Regional Differences

Hey there Einstein, before I go all out on this, I gotta know if what I want to do is meant to go in the place I want it. In the Regional Differences subpage, we have the opening scrawl NOA translation compared to the NOE translation. Can I not also compare the French and Spanish versions of the game here? Japanese as well? And is this not the place to compare the different title screens? (You deleted my comparison of the Japanese and NOA title screens so I gotta know.) Japanese, English, French, Spanish, Italian, and German are ALL languages this game has been translated into. Can I compare the dialogue between these translations on this page? No, as the game simply being translated into other languages is common and not notable. (unused text on the other hand is.) The comparison of the Japanese and US title screens was simply saying that it got a different title, information that is already in the {{bob}} on the main page. Alright, thanks for clearing this up for me. So, English NOA and English NOE can be compared because the fact that there's 2 English translations is notable, huh? Ya know there's also 2 French translations, one for North America (Canada) and for Europe (France) as well! By that same logic.... ;) Well, anywho. You realize it was in a todo, right? NWPlayer123 specifically was looking through Super Mario Maker's files previously and posting things that weren't used.
