Xenoblade edits

I just want you to know I loved your description for the "Unused Audio" on the Xenoblade page. I thought it was hilarious. Anyhow, there's no description for "Unused Graphics". I tried to think of a relevant Mumkhar quote and modify it, but I couldn't think of anything. Do you have any ideas? Robotortoise (talk) 17:01, 26 August 2015 (EDT)

That's why I left it blank (no pun intended) in the first place, I also couldn't think of anything. --Blank (talk) 08:07, 27 August 2015 (EDT)

sexy gifs

How do you make those amazing gifs in the xenoblade page? It better not be photoshop because 1. i dont have 500 dollars and 2. i wont pirate. --BlockBuilder57 (talk) 21:22, 5 September 2015 (EDT)

You can use GIMP, which is like Photoshop, but open source. There's also unFreeze too. --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 21:25, 5 September 2015 (EDT)
Personally, I use a program called GIFCam. It was recommended to me by Glitterberri. It's fantastic. Just make sure to set the framerate through the REC button before you record. Robotortoise (talk) 22:07, 5 September 2015 (EDT)
A little late to the party, but I use GIFcam with 20FPS settings. --Blank (talk) 10:47, 12 September 2015 (EDT)

How to contact

Hi Iggy, Is there a way to contact you outside of tcrf? Do you have a Steam or IRC account? Robotortoise (talk) 21:04, 2 October 2015 (EDT)

Same. BlockBuilder57 (talk) 21:27, 2 October 2015 (EDT)
No. --Iggy (talk) 06:45, 3 October 2015 (EDT)
EDIT: I just created a Steam account. If you need it --Iggy (talk) 14:55, 3 October 2015 (EDT)

Hi Iggy, I'm wanting to contact you for a quick question, (I don't really know how to use this website but that's not the question,) is there some way I can contact you on discord? or another website that you use? Karmawitch (talk) 5:00, 17 April 2020 (EDT)

Sorry for the late reply. I don't have a Discord. --Iggy (talk) 23:40, 19 May 2020 (UTC)

Datamining Xenoblade X

You seem to be the first person to have datamined X, and was simply wondering how you did it? Xenoblade on Wii was easy enough if you remember me from that article because everything is kinda available for that. But I love getting into the nitty-gritty of these games, and would love to maybe contribute to the Xenoblade X page. I just don't know if I have to modify my Wii U, and if so how, etc, etc, etc. Thanks. Also, was I supposed to just Edit Source on your talk page because I clicked Add topic. Haven't been to TCRF for awhile. Sorry! Griffion (talk) 23:34, 5 April 2016 (EDT)

There are sites you can go onto to get Wii U ISO (called .wub files), and you can extract them with a title key and the a program called Uwizard. Robotortoise (talk) 23:48, 5 April 2016 (EDT)
I know the site wiiuiso.com where you can download Wii and I guess Wii U games for what I assume is pirating purposes. But you said .wub files(?), so I assume I wouldn't get those from an iso/wbfs file. I'll try a bit of searching for those I guess, but if I do, where do I get this title key? And so I'm assuming I do not have to alter my Wii U in anyway? Griffion (talk) 00:30, 6 April 2016 (EDT)
Just google "Game name" title key. And .wub files are more or less the Wii U ISO equivalent, AFAIK. Robotortoise (talk) 15:38, 6 April 2016 (EDT)
Ok, thanks! I'll look around for that title key. But while looking for the .wub I am mostly seeing the EU and JP version, some with the 1.01 update. I have seen very little US versions. Do we know what version of the game to be looking at?Griffion (talk) 20:55, 6 April 2016 (EDT)
Any, really. They're all almost identical anyway (barring the removal of some of Cross's voice files, all the text being translated to English, and the addition of Lin's outfits in the non-Japanese releases). --Iggy (talk) 21:18, 6 April 2016 (EDT)
So I think what I downloaded is already the extracted contents of the game. I didn't get a .wub or a disk image, but instead some folder: code and content, and in the content folder are a bunch of .cpk files. Is this correct? Griffion (talk) 18:07, 7 April 2016 (EDT)
That just means someone already did the work for you! Yeah, that's correct. It's extracted. Robotortoise (talk) 18:44, 7 April 2016 (EDT)
Oh well then, how would I get into all of the paks? I'm used to quickbms with Xenoblade, but this is different obviously?! Griffion (talk) 18:47, 7 April 2016 (EDT)
There's a quickbms script for extracting cpk's, but I personally prefer to use Noesis. --Iggy (talk) 18:58, 7 April 2016 (EDT)

Persona 5 Confidants

As far as I know, reverse/break is more than possible in P5. Did you mean that only the arcana added to the page cannot be reversed or broken? -Ehm (talk) 05:17, 15 September 2017 (EDT)

Huh? I've played through the game about two times now and nobody's link reversed/broke. --Iggy (talk) 13:56, 15 September 2017 (EDT)
Sorry, I was mistaken. Just confirmed with a friend that they're unused. -Ehm (talk) 00:39, 19 September 2017 (EDT)

Xenoblade Chronicles model swap with XLS files

Hi Iggy! A friend of mine is working on swapping around Xenoblade Chronicles Wii's model files. Do you remember how to do this using the XLS files? I remember one of us discovered how to do it, but... Robotortoise (talk) 20:46, 21 July 2018 (EDT)

Ah. That brings back memories! Thankfully I wrote down how to swap models with the XLS files on the notes page or else I'd probably have forgotten by now. In the XLS files there should be a header titled "resource" and underneath it is the list of the model numbers for those entities (like enemies), replace the ones you want to replace and save the XLS. After you've done that, use CompileEverything.bat and then WiiScrubber to save the changes to the ISO. --Iggy (talk) 10:11, 23 July 2018 (EDT)

Persona 5 AOA

Did you end up finding these? I can show you where they are if needed. -Ehm (talk) 20:37, 10 December 2018 (EST)

Yeah, they were stored as EPLs.--Iggy (talk) 20:59, 10 December 2018 (EST)

Persona 5 Unused Cutscenes

I wonder if it's possible to hear audio for the cutscenes if you use the Japanese audio option? I can't confirm for myself unfortunately, but you might be able to find info on that. Either way it would still count as unused audio just for that particular version of the audio even if it's only present for e100_03 and e390_101. Jetfire77 talk 17:33, 20 February 2019 (EST)

I just did a quick skim through the sound/event files and those two do have audio in Japanese, hypothetically switching the audio language to Japanese should use those tracks. I don't think the localization team would go out of their way to program in a flag that forces the unused cutscenes to always use the English audio. Unfortunately, the silent ones just have a single placeholder silence in their audio banks.--Iggy (talk) 17:57, 20 February 2019 (EST)

Xenoblade 1's bdat.bin

I'm working with Sir Teatei Moonlight (who doesn't have an account here) on some Xenoblade stuff, and our current target is enemy arts. We saw this post of yours that mentioned bdat.bin containing a bunch of potentially useful data, but we're confused about some things: I only see "bdat_common.bin" files in my local extraction, running extractEverything.bat fails because there is no bdat.bin, and the bdat.bin rip you linked to is aged away. I know it's been a while since you looked at this but any sort of direction would be helpful. Toomai Glittershine 14:22, 24 December 2019 (EST)

Hi! Sorry for the late reply. If I remember correctly, extractEverything only extracts bdat.bin from the Japanese version of the game, since extractEverything was made before Xenoblade was available in English and it was originally intended to extract character names for a translation project. I don't remember if there's a definite way of extracting bdat.bin from the English version but it might be possible to reverse-engineer extractEverything to do so since I would imagine the file structure wouldn't be too different between versions. --Iggy (talk) 09:36, 29 December 2019 (EST)
I see, understandable. Perhaps I will try getting the JPN version and see what happens.
...or perhaps not. Apparently a day or two ago, STM found a cool site that appears to have all the English bdat tables available, with some columns even cross-linked (which is maybe not ideal but it's cool). So far he's already used it to suspect that some enemy arts are believed by their AI to inflict topple when they actually don't. Toomai Glittershine 18:52, 31 December 2019 (EST)

Xenoblade Definitive savefile data

Hello, I'm currently looking into making a Xenoblade Definitive Edition save editor, or at least find a lot of direct values to modify (already found a few, but I want to dig deeper to make an actual editor). I was wondering what you knew about the original's, and from what I saw from the notes you're a dedicated fellow. If you're interested, for easier discussion, you can contact me on discord at Laenthor#4019. --Laenthor (talk) 16:42, 15 August 2020 (UTC)
