King of Fighters 94

I reverted your KOF94 edit. For the Rugal part, unless you have a legitimate or debug or secret way of accessing the character, then that section doesn't really belong in the site. Lots of fighting games allow you to play with boss characters with cheat hacks, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are "unused" or "debug" bosses. If you truly believe the playable Rugal in this version is different than the boss Rugal version, then you should add the cheat necessary to use them and denote what's different between the playable Rugal and the boss one, skipping the trivia info. As for the videos, it's always best to avoid videos unless that's the only source of visuals. Adding a screenshot or animated GIF would be much better. ReyVGM (talk) 01:06, 3 February 2021 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for the explanations. About the videos, I agree that images or GIFs are better, but I think the videos are good placeholders as long as we don't have anything better; also, the links for the videos were already present, so why not just embed them? As for Rugal, I think the fact that he has an alternate color - which is even used by the CPU if needed - and also a jump-into-arena animation - which the CPU doesn't use because even the player's character does not when fighting him in the last stage - are proof enough that he was supposed to be playable but SNK scrapped the idea during the development. Besides, Huitzil and Pyron are featured in the page for Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors - with the same observation about an official inclusion having been considered - and their case is not much different from Rugal's, since our dear "Kraugeese" - as well as any other character accessible only by hacking - is also accessible by setting a value in a given memory address (08 at 108231 for P1 and 08 at 108431 for P2), which is exactly what emulator cheats and hacked ROMs do. Can I keep the edit (and improve upon it with images, as I intended to do) if I specify which address values should be set, like I did here? --Jmcalil (talk) 06:21, 3 February 2021 (UTC)
Okay, that's the data you should have added in the first place. Specific info, like the hex code to access the character, and the differences between the playable version and the boss version. Skip the trivia and observations because that's not needed. The problem with adding "placeholder" stuff, is that people that do that usually disappear, so other users end up cleaning their mess. If you're going to add something, add it properly from the get go. If you know images are better, then add that, and not a placeholder video (the video was used as a credit/source, that's not necessarily the same as "linking" to a video). OK. Just added the Rugal section again, this time with the hex code and way more info. It may seem like too much information, but I don't think it's merely a lot of trivia, I think everyone who comes to the KOF 94 page would like to read as much as possible about how Rugal behaves in this game when playable. If you still see any problems, I kindly ask you to not revert the edit, but instead contact me on Discord (I've already sent you a message after we started discussing) so we can talk about it and try to reach a common ground. --Jmcalil (talk) 16:14, 4 February 2021 (UTC)

Art of Fighting 3

The article still exists under a user page, but the reason it was deleted in the first place is because "Spoke too soon, content is used, will rework article shortly". Probably not the best idea to restore an article without some fact-checking. --From: CounterDiving (talk) 04:37, 11 February 2021 (UTC)

Hi, I saw it but did not understand what the user meant by "content is used". AFAIK, there's nothing in the page that can't be published. Also, this "will rework article shortly" was said in 2015 and to this date the user still did nothing. --Jmcalil (talk) 05:02, 11 February 2021 (UTC)
They're probably referring to this. But yeah, they did rework it and just never moved it out of their user page for whatever reason.--From: CounterDiving (talk) 05:16, 11 February 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for the explanations. Since the page was reworked, it's all the more reason for it to be back - now with new content by me. --Jmcalil (talk) 05:30, 11 February 2021 (UTC)
You could've just left me a message asking, ya know. I'm around, I don't contribute much of anything these days because I'm doing stuff at MobyGames now (I have lots of unfinished pages.) I only noticed this cuz Rusty deleted an image that was not needed. // Foxhack 04:56, 18 February 2021 (UTC)
