Re: MOTHER 3 Prerelease Characters
Hello. Thank you for taking interest in MOTHER 3. It's great that so many people have taken interest in my and so many other's hard work documenting it's history.
As for documenting character differences, anything can be worthy of mention so long as we have direct reference. A visual/design difference can be referenced (such as Duster having a beret in the N64 version) with proper images to draw from. Otherwise, anything concerning personality (and or age, since several pieces of N64 material cite character ages) can be documented so long as we have a source. A good example would be the mayor of Tazmily, since there's a lot of great written material on how he was a kind and respectful person during the N64 version's development.
People tend to apply a lot of their own personal theories on MOTHER 3, since so much is left to interpretation. There's a lot of great theories on what might've been different in the N64 version. However, as we're trying to remain as objective as possible, we're trying not to tie speculative information into things unless we have substantial evidence. This can even relate to characters, as the Spaceworld 1997 page has a character photo shoot with several unnamed N64 NPCs that have great evidence of being villagers that made it into the GBA version (such as Caroline and Angie).
If you have any questions or doubts on what information should be included, feel free to reach out to me or another member, PineappleCarl.
Cheers!

Boney
Hello,
Boney not being playable is pure speculation based on the fact there's no images of him in battle. It's safe to assume his role did not change. So, unless we get confirmation, this remains in theory territory.
And yes, definitely add Nippolyte!
