JPEGs

Please don't upload JPEG screenshots of games (the ones that are prerelease material found online or from other sources are ok if was the original format), as per the guidelines. --ΓBSOD 17:06, 2 July 2021 (UTC)

Can you delete the Bejeweled Twist JPEGs except for the prerelease ones I've uploaded? I'm going to submit PNG's in a minute. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Terra King (talk • contribs)
Sure, first upload the new images and replace them in the page, then I'll delete the JPEGs. --ΓBSOD 18:15, 2 July 2021 (UTC)
Alright. I'm going to upload them now. Sorry it took a bit. - Terra King
Ok, got rid of the JPEGs! --ΓBSOD 21:06, 6 July 2021 (UTC)
Forgot to tell you that was not necessary to re-upload the final title screen, but the rest is ok. --ΓBSOD 21:29, 6 July 2021 (UTC)

Plants vs Zombies unused graphics

Were the unused graphics you added to Plants vs. Zombies (Windows, Mac OS X)/Unused Graphics‎ actually found in the files of the final game or did you just port them over from the prototype pages? If so, then I think they should stay on the prototype page. Just making sure

--Cutesycookie (talk) 00:17, 22 November 2021 (UTC)

Yes, but I actually have a few questions about that, the Zomboni without the Z wasn't found the game files, yet it was added. Also where were the Lily Pad, Tall-net, Doom-shroom, Peashooter, Squash, Wall-nut, Puff-shroom, Fume-shroom, and Cactus found? Because those were not in the game files of either the final game or the prototypes and yet they don't signal to where they were found. I got nothing off of the PVZ Wikia on where they ere found either, they just say "ripped from the flas" but there is nothing in the flash version.

John Romeo's explicit messages

I was wondering if we should have the explicit messages from Romero on the page for Doom 1 (and to an extent Doom 2 and Final Doom) on a development page instead, considering there from the source code and aren't actually in the game. But then again what do I know, thoughts? --Mantis (talk) 10:21, 29 August 2023 (UTC)

Go ahead and move the code found within Doom 1, 2, and Final into the development page of Doom 1. The text should only be kept in Doom 1's dev page, with a note that 2 and FD use it. --INFAMOUS TerraKing-Infamous SignatureSymbol.png (Talk) 21:55, 29 August 2023 (UTC)

Some questions for some things

Hi Me again, I have some quick questions/info I'd like your opinion on.

  1. Could this subpage for Bejeweled Blitz on iOS be moved to a development one? And should the articles for Bejeweled Blitz be updated/moved to reflect the Android (for iOS) and Mac OS X (for Windows) versions? I assume the Mobile ones are identical to each other, and likewise for the PC ones.
  2. The Quake II page should really be moved to with a "(PC)" tag to make way for the console ports on the wiki. Agree?
    1. On a related note, the PC version of Quake III Arena probably should be moved in a similar manner as well, since it was also released for Linux, Mac OS X and AmigaOS (apparently, idk when).
  3. The old names for Quake II seem to come from a series retrospective article by magazine Retro Gamer called 20 Years of Quake. I'm also aware that the "Wor" name was discussed by Tim Willits in an interview with NoClip seen here.
  4. I personally think design documents for Quake II should be on a development page rater then the prerelease one. Your thoughts?

Thanks, and I hope you have a good one. --Mantis (talk) 10:30, 18 September 2023 (UTC)

  1. I asked TCRF Discord, I hope to get a response in a bit.
  2. 100% agreed! I was confused as to why there wasn't one to begin with, and also there could be ambiguity. Perhaps create a {{disambig}} page to make a differentiation between the original and the 2023 Night Dive remaster?
    1. Move the page.
  3. Found "Wor".
  4. The classic Sonic pages have design docs in their prerelease pages, as well as Doom's page links to the Doom Bible, so let's keep design docs in prerelease once they're ripped out.

Doom Source Code Leak

Hello, I'm don't know if your aware of this, but the source code of Doom for Mac, The Ultimate Doom and Doom II recently was leaked in September 2023. Likely has things of interest to investigate. Cheers --Mantis (talk) 13:01, 8 January 2024 (UTC)

Yeah, I'm aware. I have had them downloaded and archived since November, and some people from the TCRF Discord has looked into it, but people don't seem to be talking about it much. --INFAMOUS TerraKing-Infamous SignatureSymbol.png (Talk) 01:16, 12 January 2024 (UTC)

Hi!

Just dropping by to say I love your userpage! I also like Sonic stuff. Good luck on your projects! -- FanOfRosalina2007 (talk) 03:25, 22 June 2024 (UTC)

Greetings! And thanks! If it seems like a giant cluster of information in the To-do, it's no big deal. That To-do is just for me and I'll get onto it at some point. Sonic is great. Thanks! I'm currently writing a book called the "Nova Chronicles" which involves the character on my profile. The reason why I've been inactive on this site is because of this hobby project that I've grown fond of. It's fun writing your own little piece of literature if you know what you're doing. Video games have inspired me so much that I wanted to contribute something towards society.--INFAMOUS TerraKing-Infamous SignatureSymbol.png (Talk) 13:44, 22 June 2024 (UTC)
Yeah! I'm not too active here because I don't really have much to contribute. I'm actually writing a Super Mario fanfiction right now, and the main character is Rosalina (from Super Mario Galaxy). I personally think it's pretty good. :D See you around! -- FanOfRosalina2007 (talk) 18:39, 22 June 2024 (UTC)

Doom 1 and 2 Windows releases

I came across your discussion about Doom on Zyxyz's talk page and was curious about the following:

Doom 1 and 2 were built for MS DOS upon their original releases, and were never rereleased on Windows until DOOM 3 BFG edition and until 2019 when they were officially rereleased, but even then it's just a source port made by Bethesda and not a faithful remake.

In what way are you describing re-releases? Both Doom (Ultimate Doom) and Doom II have received re-releases for Windows (Windows 95), being bundled with the Doom95 source port, on CD-ROM. There have been compilation packs of the classic Doom games released that include Windows versions going back to the 1990s. These include Depths of Doom Trilogy (1997), id Anthology (1996) and Doom Collector's Edition (2001). If including the shareware version, it was released for Windows 95, with Doom95, in 1995. There were even several versions for the Windows-based handheld devices from 2002 to 2003 (WinCE, as well as Windows Mobile on PocketPC devices). These also don't include the Windows releases corresponding to localizations in regions such as Asia in the 1990s. Emjeeman (talk) 04:59, 10 November 2024 (UTC)

I want to make a correction to myself for a second: The 2019 re-release is the one with the Nerve source port endorsed and distributed by Bethesda. This was favorably replaced by the new source port/KEX Engine in August 8, 2024. I'm widely aware of the several comp discs, but also completely forgot about Doom95's existence, so thanks for bringing that up. But to summarize what I was saying to Zyxyz, I was referring to D3 BFG, and the Nerve source port where that solved having to suffer through the tragedy that is D3 BFG's source port. So yeah, some things were old information from June 2023 which I've been educated about since then. --INFAMOUS TerraKing-Infamous SignatureSymbol.png (Talk) 17:45, 10 November 2024 (UTC)
