World of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck

Also known as: I Love Mickey & Donald: Fushigi na Magic Box (JP)
This game has a prototype article
World of Illusion is the third game in Sega's Illusion series. Notable for having three unique sections in each round depending on whether you're Mickey, Donald, or playing in a two-player co-op game.
A small chunk of the first area of Round 2-M (to the right of the cavern entrance) is unused. This section was used in the prototype before ultimately being discarded.
Mickey's hurt animation is five frames long, but only three frames are used in the final game.
Maybe these frames weren't used because of how goofy they look? That's lower case 'g' goofy, by the way.
The Round 3 boss, Glut, is below the floorboards most of the time, so his bottom half is hidden from view.
All four magic spells have earlier texts in the ROM. These earlier drafts use the in-level dialogue tileset, and as such are in all-caps.
|Address||Text (Early)||Text (Final)|
“ IF YOU SAY THE MAGIC WORD, ’ALAKAZAM’ AND PRESS A BUTTON, A FLYING CARPET WILL APPEAR. IT IS EASY TO CONTROL: HOLD DOWN THE C BUTTON TO FLYING UP. IF YOU DON'T PRESS THE C BUTTON, YOUR CARPET WILL COME BACK TO THE GROUND.”
“If you say the magic word, ’ALAKAZAM’, and then press any one of the buttons, a flying carpet will appear. To control the carpet, hold down the JUMP button to fly up. If JUMP is not pressed, the carpet will descend. Use the direction pad to control your movement.”
“ IF YOU SAY THE MAGIC WORD, ’ALAKAZAM’ AND PRESS A BUTTON, A MAGIC BUBBLE WILL APPEAR. IT IS EASY TO CONTROL: HOLD DOWN THE C BUTTON TO FLOAT UP WHERE YOU ARE IN WATER, AND USE THE D BUTTON TO CONTROL YOUR DIRECTION. IF YOU DON'T PRESS C BUTTON, YOU AND YOUR BUBBLE WILL SINK DOWN.”
“If you say the magic word, ’ALAKAZAM’, and then press any one of the buttons, a magic bubble will appear. To control the bubble, hold down the JUMP button to float up, and use the direction pad to control your movement. If JUMP is not pressed, the bubble will sink.”
“SAY ’ALAKAZAM’ AND PRESS THE A BUTTON, THEN YOU CAN WARP TO ANOTHER BOX.”
“If you say ’ALAKAZAM’, and then press any one of the buttons, you'll be transported to another box.”
“IF YOU SAY THE MAGIC WORD ’ALAKAZAM’ AND PRESS THE A BUTTON, YOU CAN COMMAND CARDS."
“If you say ’ALAKAZAM’, and then press any one of the buttons, you'll be able to command cards.”

“----SO, WITH THIS MAGIC WE CAN CONTROL THE SCARF WITH OUR MAGIC WAND.”
“. . . So, with this magic we can control the scarf with our magic wand.”
This out of place dialogue doesn't appear in an in-level dialogue box or in a cutscene, though it's formatted for both. There aren't any scarves or magic wands in this game.
Code for a round select and a stage select still exists in the game, and can be enabled with the use of Game Genie codes.
Enable one of the below codes (depending on region), then press C to play a specific track in the sound test (listed below), then press Start to go to the corresponding round. Note that playing a sound test entry higher than 6 will crash the game.
|Sound Test Entry||Round Number|
|1 or 2||1|
Enable one of the below codes (depending on region), then highlight Controller and press Right. Every time Right is pressed, a beep will be heard, and the number of times Right is pressed denotes the stage to go to. Press Start to go to the chosen stage.

If a red screen appears while any of the above codes are enabled, enable one of the below codes (depending on region) to fix it:
The layout for the first candy level was changed in the Japanese version, with the most noticeable change being the additional wafer platforms in place of the much easier cake platforms. The circular biscuits don't drop in the Japanese version, but in the International version they drop shortly after Mickey touches them.
