The very first version of the very first Ys game. Was one of six ports initially released for various Japanese computers.

Unused Music Test

Insert Disk B in Drive 1 and boot up the computer. An error on the screen may appear, but during this time hold down "Y" and "S" together (in capitals) and this will bring up the Music Test. Each track will play through and move onto the next one, but you can also press [SPACEBAR] to cycle through them.

An insane amount of tracks are buried in this mode, completely unused. Certain tracks would be rearranged for use in later versions of the game, such as the Sega Master System port, or Ys: Book I & II, while Ys I Chronicles would end up using many of these tracks, albeit with alterations(i.e. Faster Tempo).

Unused Text

Included in the source code is (what appears to be) a mockup of the status page. However, a number of inventory items are incorrect and all the values are listed as plain text. It is likely this was a placeholder until a proper status page based on character stats. and equipment was made.
