Textures

Venice

A .wad file created by Ido Magal of Valve Software and uploaded to the now-defunct GameSpy's Fileplanet service in 2002. This .wad contains textures that were apparently used for a scrapped Venice-themed map for the game. The readme file says:

These are textures I made for a CS Venice map I planned,
but never executed. So I'm sharing them, hoping
someone will make some good use of them.
So permission is hereby granted to use them
for any (and ONLY) Half-Life-based mod.
Don't be a putz; Give me a credit if you're
gonna use them.

Included:

WAD with smaller sized textures.

TGAs of smaller sized textures.

TGAs of original double-size textures.

This README.

All of these images are Copyright 2001 Ido Magal.

Here are the textures. The last edited dates for the TGA files range from 19 to 27 May 2001, however the WAD's last edited date is 17 July 2002.

Maps

cs_cstle

A castle-themed map created by Dave Johnston, creator of both Dust maps. This map was planned to have stuff like a hill, a lake and two TV broadcast trucks as the terrorists' bomb targets, but these plans never came to be. Johnston then created de_cbble days after his previous map got rejected, using the same textures as cs_cstle, essentially making this map the predecessor to Cobble.
