Grimace's Birthday was released as part of a promotional campaign for McDonald's, and can be played here. It presents itself as a mere retro-themed browser game, but is in fact a real Game Boy Color game being run in an emulator, and it can even be played on real hardware after dumping the ROM.
"Game Boy Color Required" Screen
Attempting to play Grimace's Birthday on a Game Boy or Super Game Boy will pull up this screen (note that the Game Boy Color is not mentioned by name, as this game is not licensed by Nintendo). As many Game Boy Color-specific titles display similar notices, this wouldn't normally be all that notable – except that playing the game as intended (on the website) provides no way to switch to Game Boy mode, thus this screen goes unused.
