Illbleed is a haunted house game that sold poorly but garnered a cult following for its ribbing of typical B-Movie tropes, its interesting spin on survival horror gameplay, and the giant demonic version of Sonic the Hedgehog that appears as a boss fight.

Unused Character Names and Features

Among the textures are names for characters that aren't in the game: Alicia Evans and Wong Cheung Yi. Additionally, Eriko is listed as "Christy Redgrave".

Also mentioned are cartridges, presumably as weapon ammo (which is infinite in the final game). Finally, there's also a mention of "Insurance", which makes sense given the Hell's Insurance building from the prototype (replaced in the final by the Visitor Bank).

Regional Differences

Hmmm...
To do:
Food items are different between Japanese and western versions.

A few changes were made when bringing the game over to the US, including fixing a few typos.

Shock Shock Theater

Japan US

The Shock Shock Theater was renamed to the Shock It To Me Theater.

Interestingly, the Japanese Illbleed Zekyou Survival Guide uses the US name, with only one page using the "Shock Shock" name.

Child Palace

Hmmm...
To do:
More images of the Cork name change and, if possible, rip the voice clips.
Japan US

The "Chld Palace" typo was fixed in the US version. Additionally, the Japanese version names the protagonist of Toy Hunter "Inda", whereas in the US version he is named "Cork".

As with the Killer Department Store cinema, the Illbleed Zekyou Survival Guide includes a render using the correct spelling. Interestingly, it also uses the "Inda" name from the Japanese version.

Passcode

The passcode in the Lumber Mill stage differs between versions. In the Japanese version the passcode is 1564. In the US version the passcode is 9663.

Prize Money

The advertised prize money for each stage differs between versions. The below list is in stage order.

Japan US
$50,000
$80,000
$120,000
$150,000
$50,000
$300,000
$10,000
$20,000
$30,000
$50,000
$50,000
$300,000

Despite this, the actual prize money won from stages wasn't changed in the US version.
