Scrapped Models

An untextured model for the C15TA can be found in the Commonwealth vehicles folder.

Wehrmacht Pillbox

An otherwise unused Pillbox model can be seen during one of the Cherbourg cutscenes.

Judging by the non-animated white flag, this could presumably be an early version of what would eventually become the Axis bunkers.

Sherman Accessories

References to multiple scrapped Sherman Accessories can still be found.

These include:

Scrapped Units

Command Squad

Data exists for a scrapped "Command Squad" for the Americans. This unit would have consisted of a single US Officer armed with a Colt M1911.

The following text is used for the unit:

Command Squad
Can call in an Artillery Strike on a location and generates a Leadership aura, increasing the statistics to all nearby friend Units.

The remaining data for this unit shows the following abilities the Officer would have had:

  • Rout/Force retreat enemy infantry
  • Heroic Charge (taken from the CW lieutenant)
  • Strafing Run call-in

Suprisingly, neither an artillery strike nor a leadership aura are present.

It seems that this unit was scrapped late into development, as the model for the Officer and M1911 are fully completed and functional. The Officer can still be seen in some cutscenes.

Campaign Command Squad

There is data for a singleplayer Command Squad named "command_platoon_sp_mckay". This unit is almost identical to the regular Command Squad unit, but has an additional passive ability that reduced suppression by half and increases vision by 25% to allied infantry in a 40 meter radius.

Despite having Mackay in the name, the current data still refers to the regular Officer model. It is highly possible that this unit was supposed to be used in the scrapped St. Lô mission.

Unused Voicelines

Gas

There are multiple voicelines of American soldiers warning the player that the enemy is using gas.

Unused Song

...
This page or section needs more audio.
There's a whole lotta words here, but not enough audio. Please fix this.

Within the files is a song sung by the Tiger Crew that would presumably play after the player got a bunch of kills.

Campaign

Original Mission Names

A few of the Invasion of Normandy missions were previously named differently.

Scrapped Campaign Mission

The in-game files suggest that there would have originally been an additional St. Lô mission in the Invasion of Normandy Campaign.

Coh IoN-levellist.png

The file names for the Invasion of Normandy missions misses mission 11. Additionally, the existing St. Lô mission is labeled as a counterattack mission.

Unused text suggest that the St. Lô mission would have had several different objectives, those being;

  • Saving pinned down allies with the use of a COMMANDER and leading them back to Aid Stations
  • Capturing Axis supply roads and defending against counterattacks
  • Capturing North and Southern road territory in order to receive reinforcements
  • Eventually capturing the town square itself to liberate St. Lô
