So all of these room backgrounds in the PlayStation Resident Evil games are actually loaded from a graphics file format called .BSS, which hold a series of prerendered 2D images that the game loads from to display the area of a room you're in, based on the camera angle set by the developer. I'm not certain if these are actually just bitmaps (because the collection where these images are from are actually .jpegs from a .zip archive I downloaded from some Resident Evil fansite a long time ago) but if they technically were, I'm certain that they would have to be converted to PNGs anyhow (the jpegs themselves don't seem to be heavily compressed. These kinds of games never seemed to have used the best compression methods for pre-rendered graphics anyways. I'm ready to be proven wrong though). Could I still use this archive but convert them to lossless PNGs? --OKeijiDragon 21:49, 15 November 2017 (EST)
