Attacker is a short doujin adventure game for the PC-88. You explore different areas, and talk to people in order to solve a mystery.

Unused Character

AttackerV100-Character5.png

While you can only select between four characters, there is an unused 5th character in the game, named 伊尻 政次 (Masaji Ijiri). He appears to be a salaryman, and has completely different stats from the rest of the characters. Only his downward-facing sprite (pictured) is finished - walking in any of the other three directions uses a female character's sprites. Attempting to open the inventory by pressing ENTER will result in glitched text being displayed across the screen, as the code for him is incomplete.

Revisional Differences

There are two known versions of the game: v1.00 and v1.54.

v1.54

  • The startup intro has been modified, with new effects added and an additional image.
  • The startup intro BGM is completely new.
  • Character select screen BGM has more bass.
  • A new main menu option to play a bonus game is added.
  • The in-game BGM has been completely reworked.
  • The forest zone has entirely new music.
  • The game's ending has been developed further.
  • The staff credits now have a scrolling effect.
