This is a sub-page of Call of Duty: Black Ops (Windows, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii).

Unused Weapons

Hmmm...
To do:
  • Upload photos for the broken Mustang and Sally and broken CZ75 dual-wield.
  • Add M249 SAW. COD Wiki has documentation about it here.

WEAPON_DEFAULTWEAPON

CODBODefaultWeapon.png

A development fragment in almost every Call of Duty game. Pickup icon is an AK-47.

Molotov Cocktail

Hmmm...
To do:
  • Investigate this.
  • Call of Duty Wiki has some information about this on this article.

While Molotov Cocktails are used by NPCs, the player never gets to use them, but they can be be obtained on Vorkuta if the "giveall" console command is used. Has a unique HUD icon and first person use animation.

Broken Mustang and Sally

A broken version of the Mustang and Sally can be obtained via the "give all" console command in Zombies. This version of Mustang and Sally is very glitchy, does very little damage, and when dropped the game crashes.

Broken CZ75 Dual Wield

A broken version of the CZ75 Dual Wield can be obtained on WMD via the "give all" console command. Like the broken Mustang and Sally, this version of the dual wield CZ75 is very glitchy and when dropped the game crashes.

P38

CODBOP38HUDIcon.png

While carried by Steiner in a cutscene for the mission "Project Nova", the P38 is never seen in normal gameplay. However, it does have a slightly unfinished pick up icon.

.357 Magnum

The .357 Magnum from World at War. It has a multiplayer model and also a model paired with a flashlight, presumably meant to be used on "Project Nova" in place of the Tokarev with flashlight. This model is present in the Mod Tools.

Tokarev TT-33

In the mission "Project Nova", in a later section of the map, you hold a Tokarev with a flashlight. With the "give all" command, you can get a Tokarev without a flashlight but this Tokarev is almost the same as Call of Duty: World at War's Tokarev but with a Makarov firing sound.

Thompson

While the Thompson is used on the World at War Zombie maps, even without them installed files for it are still present in the game.

RPD

A light machine gun. Weapon files exist. Oddly enough, it did appear in the DS version.

Sawed-Off shotgun

Hmmm...
To do:
Is this the same as Sawed-Off from World at War?

Has a file in the Mod Tools titled "db_sawed_off_creek" that is the shotgun with no textures, and another called "t5_weapon_viewmodel_flashlight_gun" which has a similar model and a model for a flashlight, both untextured. Appears to have been intended for the rat tunnel section of Victor Charlie, whose internal name is "creek_1".

Horse gunner

Hmmm...
To do:
With mod tools installed, it appears to have assets in \raw\ in \images, \xmodel, \xmodelsurfs, \rumble, \xmodelparts, \materialproperties, \materials, \fx\bio\animals, and a script (_horse.gsc) in \maps .

All information for this weapon comes from its file "DELETEMELATER_horse_driver_gunner", which consists partly of normal turret coding, dummy values, and some parameters filled with values from the Uzi.

Jeep gunner

Acactussayswhat?
Please elaborate.
Having more detail is always a good thing.

There is a single player weapon file called "DELETEMELATER_jeep_gunner" that, based on the name, seems to correspond to a turret placed on a jeep. In the final game, jeeps only appear on S.O.G..

Chainsaw

Mentioned in the Mod Tools Asset Manager when creating a bullet firing weapon (bulletweapon). This weapon is mentioned as an example of a weapon that would use the "continuous fire" firing option, although it does not appear in the game.

Early Victor Charlie AK47

An early version of the AK47 used at the start of Victor Charlie where Mason grabs a Viet Cong soldier and uses the soldier's AK47 to shoot at a boat. This early file is called "DELETEMELATER_creek_meatshield_ak47_v1_sp". The only differences are the following:

  • Ammo is 100 instead of 80. In the final game, it isn't possible to run out of ammo with 80.
  • File paths are for an in-development model.
  • Early ADS kick values.
  • "tag_short_sight" is absent from the list of tags.

Revelations Weapons

In the mission, Revelations, if you use the "give all" command, you have a lot of guns. All of the guns have no sound and neither the knife you are also given. The only weapons that are used in the map by Hudson is the M1911 and surprisingly the AK-47. The AK-47 appears when the game disc is dirty/damaged.

Sabertooth

Hmmm...
To do:
Document the following:
  • Information about this weapon from its weapon file (sabertooth_zm)
  • PAP version (sabertooth_upgraded_zm).
  • Related weapon files: sabertooth_360_zm and sabertooth_360_upgraded_zm . From the file names they appear to be separate variants of the weapon.

A large chainsaw intended for Zombies. Code, player animations and some zombie functions still exist, but no audio files. This weapon was intended to use a cool down meter similar to the Flamethrower.

Unused Winter's Howl

AltFreezeRay.png

The game contains an unused model of the Winter's Howl that uses the same textures as the final version. No animations exist for the gun exclusively as they were most likely over written by the newer model. This model can be viewed via the Black Ops Mod Tools.
