Atari's third generation of gaming console, the Atari 7800 ProSystem was intended for release in 1984 but delayed until 1986 by the Industry Crash, leaving it to take on the NES (although the Master System, released six months later, didn't help matters). The 7800 was around for six years, but somehow managed to produce less games than the 5200 due to controversial licensing contracts used by Nintendo.
