The Commodore Plus/4 is something of a successor to the VIC-20, with the intent being that it be sold to lower-end markets. It came equipped with a built-in software suite for word processing and databases, but it also was compared unfavorably to the Commodore 64. It was a complete bomb in the U.S., but it had some success in Europe.
