More Revisions Beyond 2007

I do not have access to these 2017 updates. I have lost interest in the company at that point for some reason. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) 16:01, 21 December 2024 (UTC)

Wildgoosespeeder, many if not all LDA games are still available for purchase from the Humble Bundle widgets that used to be on their site, you can use IA Wayback Machine to look them up. See for example here the availability section. In my Humble library I have all Longbow-developed DX-Ball / Rival Ball series games and Vortiball, which I bought there some time after the release of 20th Anniversary Edition and the removal of several of these games from the site. Longbow hasn't been heard from for a couple years by now, so I don't expect them to come back and take down these widgets all of a sudden. --TwoSpacesSG (talk) 22:56, 21 December 2024 (UTC)
I am not interested in repurchasing the games. It may end up being a hassle to try to work with their support team to track down an order from around 20 years ago. The record may even be lost on their end. However, the 20th Anniversary edition does seem enticing. It is available on Steam, as mentioned here. Also, any info you can contribute from the 2017 updates would be appreciated! --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) 23:45, 21 December 2024 (UTC)
Longbow is basically some kind of zombie company at this point, they "exist" and their games are still sold, but there haven't been any updates to DXB2:20AE or the Hegemony series for a while, the games haven't gone on sale on Steam since forever, the public relations are nonexistent from what me and some of my buddies have seen. It's hard to tell what happened, but it seems that since Covid, there have been problems at Longbow. So it'd be lovely (and very interesting) to see them reply to you about the old order, but I don't expect it sadly. I would say the 20th Anniversary Edition deserves its own page since it's largely its own thing. I don't know or remember much about the version changes in Longbow's games to be honest, sorry to say. --TwoSpacesSG (talk) 01:57, 22 December 2024 (UTC)
Last blog post on website, last Tweet from LDA on 1-7-2020, and last Tweet from RickYorgason employee on May 26 2016. Yeah, seems like a zombie company to me. Side note, I haven't updated my games since the Vista compatibility update and I am somewhat surprised the games will work on Windows 11. I haven't tried the versions older than that, but I am using PCem running Windows 98 to run those games. Also, ever since DX-Ball, I have always wondered why the split between LDA and BlitWise Productions for the breakout game sequels. That, and Particle Fire in every LDA game. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) 14:50, 22 December 2024 (UTC)
