This page details development materials of Lemmings 2: The Tribes (Amiga).

In July 2021 the development environment for the DMA Design game Hired Guns was released on the internet. This release also contained some parts of the development files for the original Lemmings and Lemmings 2.

Source Code

The archive HGCD32\Soundplayer.lha contains Scott Johnston's Amiga sound player code. According to the readme inside it was used in both Lemmings and Lemmings 2, and text strings from it match those in the game's executable.

Testing Materials

Included in the archive ScottMaps.lha is a saved game for Lemmings 2, L2-Saved-Positions. Loading this into the game reveals it seems to have been used to test the game during development, with specific combinations of tribes fully completed. Based on the contents of the rest of the archive, this likely came from the game's artist, Martin Good.
