This page details development materials of Toy Story (Game Boy).

Mark Ortiz, the main sound composer at Tiertex at the time, released the source code to all of his work, including the original MIDI files used in the Game Boy version of Toy Story.

Unused Music

Hmmm...
To do:
  • There are four .TXT music files that don't have corresponding MIDI files:
    • CT01
    • CT03
    • LEN
    • NEWPOCA4 (leftover from Pocahontas)

Having a whopping three music tracks in the final game, there was one more that didn't make it in.

NEW4.MID

Tiertex Music 4-8-1999\GAMEBOY\Toy Story\NEW4.MID is the Nightmare Buzz boss theme. Given that this boss fight was cut from the Game Boy version, it only makes sense that its music would be too.

XTITLE.MID

XTITLE.MID (Unused) TITLE.MID (Used)

Tiertex Music 4-8-1999\SUPERGB\TOYSTORY\XTITLE.MID is a very slightly different arrangement of Strange Things, with the bass notes at sixteen seconds higher than in the final game.
