Eddsworld's Bang, Boom, Splat! is a flash game created by Ian Kelly (Psynwav) and Edd Gould in 2008. The game is a high score based shooting game or “shooting gallery type game” as stated in the newgrounds description.

Due to the nature of how Small Web Format (SWF) files are compiled, there isn’t much in terms of cut content, but what is present is quite interesting.

Unused Graphics

Multiple animations are left over in the final build showing multiple multi-coloured spinning squares. These are the remnants of a glitter animation that would’ve played after completing a level. This feature is still fully functional if the commented out source code from the FLA is re-inserted into the final games SWF. According to Ian Kelly, the games programmer, this feature was seemingly removed by accident.

Despite having the button present in the options menu, the “Movies” button is actually broken in the final game, making this screen inaccessible. This is also the result of a glitch, as it otherwise works perfectly without any issues.

The reason this bug occurs is due to how the save file check was programmed, as when pressing the button, the game will only bring you to the movies screen if you’ve completed the story mode. However, the variable that checks for this is declared in the frames action script, which is outside of the buttons action script code. Setting this value in the frame action script instead fixes this issue.

Partially-Unseen Graphics

A monochrome version of the “Crewshot t-shirt design” is used commonly in menu backgrounds throughout the game. However, it is never fully seen in game due to being either set at a low opacity, cut off by the screen or usually both.

The image of Edd used in the credits and Level 4 death animation has a hand that is always off screen.

This is the text the level description is set to by default in the level select. It’s never normally seen as it’s replaced with the standard level description when it slides into frame. However, changing the window size of a Flash Player will reveal it as it’s just off screen.
