This is a sub-page of F-Zero GX.

The debug menu is only present in the Japanese version. Once the game loads, select Story to enter the debug menu.

Controls

Button Action
Start Go Back (not menus 1, 2, and 3).
A Enter, Play or Load.
B Go Back for menu 1 and 3, hide text in menu 4. Exit main menu.
X Not used?
Y Lock on item / zoom in on item (very useful).
Z Not used?
L Not used?
R Hold R + Analogue Up or Down to rotate around object vertically (Around center axis, Y/Z plane).
Hold R + C-Stick Up or Down to rotate Player's View (Rotate around self).
Analogue L/R Rotate Left/Right around center axis (X/Z plane).
Analogue U/D Select option in main menu, zoom in/out of center point.
C-Stick L/R Rotate your viewpoint Left or Right.
D-Pad Used to select files within menus. Up / Down to select container / option, Left / Right to select files within container or change option.

Menu Options

  • For some reason, the Model Test viewer will generate very little lighting, making it difficult to view the model. However, if you go play around in Stage Check first (zoom in/out, pan around, etc.) then go into the Model Viewer, the brightness will have significantly increased. The more you do in Stage Check, the better the lighting will be. The brightness will reset every time you close the game.
Menu Number Menu Contents
1 - DIP Switch Select options like NO_DAMAGE, NO_DEAD, etc. Uncertain if it has any effect. Appears to edit some data on the memory card.
2 - PAD Input View control input, to test both controller and steering wheel input. *Note: Exit with Z + Start.
3 - Motion Playback Character debugger, used to test out character models of different resolutions and character animations.
4 - Bitmap Graphic viewer and debugger, used to view any graphic from any archive within the bitmap directory.
5 - ARAM Font View different fonts. *Warning: will crash when you view FONT_ASC_24x24.
6 - Stage Check Stage viewer, used to roam around stages. *Warning: will freeze if the player tries to load a nonexistent stage. View accessible stages.
7 - Car Check C Color, Y Manual
Book, X Default Car Size
Freezes the game. However, it is functional in F-Zero AX.
8 - Model Test 3D model viewer, used to view anything from Characters to Vehicles to Stages.
9 - Sound Test Play sound effects, character dialogue and the game's soundtrack.
10 - Physics Test Unsure how to get anything to work in this menu. Appears to require a second controller?
11 - Cloth Test Nullified menu option. Does nothing.
12 - Vehicle Parts Check Garage debugger, used to test out different machine parts, colors and pilots.
13 - Name Entry Change the player's name.
14 - Test Run Play a custom machine on Sonic Oval, Twist Road or Thunder Road. There is no lap counter, no CPUs, and the machine is set at 50% (default) settings.
