It may be called Final Lap 2 but it isn't related to Pole Position II and is more-so its own sequel.

Unused Graphics

Japan World

The unused car graphics from the first game are still present. On the World ROM, the McLaren and Lotus palettes were edited, following a controversy over explicit cigarette advertisements in the first game. Although the March car was not recolored for the player in the international version, the palette shown are used for CPU controlled cars in the international version.

Unused Music

A short jingle possibly meant for the attract mode.

Uncompiled Music Sources

Located at 0x13D40 in the sound CPU ROMs is this drum pattern fragment from "Ending B" (which can be heard about 35 seconds in).
