Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted/Revisional Differences

From The Cutting Room Floor
Jump to navigation Jump to search

This is a sub-page of Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted.

Hmmm...
To do:
  • The Cupcake prize originally used a fan-made model by Superkerbin.
  • Mangle's yellow eyes originally used a fan-made texture that also belongs to Everything_Animations, which has been removed from the game's files.
  • The 'RIG_Freddle01' model was updated at some point after the game released.
  • Patch notes.

Graphical Differences

FNaF 2 Night 2 Icon (SmallThumb_NI_Night2_FNAFUI)

The icon for Night 2 of FNaF 2 was changed twice after the game released. The first version of it was replaced because the Foxy model used in it is actually a fan-made model by Everything_Animations, and the second version was replaced since Withered Foxy was added to the game.

Intro Logo (TEX_IntroPoster_Hilarious_07)

Since the 'VR' subtitle was dropped from the game's name after Flat mode released, the image of the game's logo that's used in the intro was updated to reflect this.

Model Differences

Backstage Endo-01 (MOD_Endo)

Prior to the August 24, 2019 patch, FNaF 1's Backstage room used a lower poly, posed version of a fan-made model of Endo-01 by Superkerbin with an edited version of the Unreal Engine 4 starter material 'M_Metal_Steel' applied to it, instead of Steel Wool's own Endo-01 model.

Removed Graphics

Hidden Images

A slideshow of Showbiz Pizza animatronic and endoskeleton photos that were supposed to be displayed on the Prize Counter's television screen after pressing the red button inside the Exotic Butters basket. These images were removed from the game's final release due to the gamers and fans comparing the images to the actual Showbiz Pizza photos. The images themselves, however, remained in the 'HiddenImages' folder in the files until the June 22, 2019 patch released.

Interestingly, a grayscale version of the second image, 'IMG_3669', was actually used as a teaser for the game.

Silver Parasol Games Logo (silverparasol)

A logo for the fictional, in-universe video game studio 'Silver Parasol Games'. This was used in prototypes of the game, showing up before the title screen, but it was removed from the intro by the time the game released to avoid any confusion. The graphic itself remained in the files of the final game up until the September 14, 2019 patch.

FNAFVR spg.png

Fan-made "CELEBRATE!" Poster (TEX_Poster1)

A texture featuring a fan-made recreation of FNaF 1's "CELEBRATE!" poster by TimmyHeadNoseDeviant that was used as a placeholder in prototypes of the game. It was removed from the files in the June 3, 2019 patch, around one week after the game released; you can probably guess why.

Withered Animatronics Teaser (TEX_WitheredTeaserSprite)

The sprite sheet for a distorted version of the Withered level's icon that was displayed on the Prize Counter's television screen in the August 24, 2019 patch, to tease the upcoming additions of the Withered animatronics and their level. Once those were added in the September 14, 2019 patch, this graphic was removed from the files and a teaser for the Curse of Dreadbear DLC started being displayed on the television instead.

Removed Models

Little Sign (MOD_LittleSign_01)

A model of a cardboard sign that was removed from the files when Flat mode released. While this was never used in the final game, it can actually be found in the Pizzeria Hub in prototypes, displaying instructions on how to pause the game.

By default, this model has no material assigned, but it does have a set of proper textures and a material named 'MAT_LittleSign' that would've been used in-game.

Springtrap's Left Leg (SpringTrap_Arm_NM)

Despite the filename, this is a model of Springtrap's left leg that used to be used at the beginning of the nightmare mode version of Vent Repair Ennard when the game released, before being removed from the game files entirely in the June 22, 2019 patch. Great.

Early 'DLC_Foxy_Rage' Animation

An earlier version of Grimm Foxy's rage animation, which depicts him howling instead of raising his hook, can be found in the files of Curse of Dreadbear's release build and the October 25, 2019 patch. This was replaced by the final version in the October 29, 2019 patch.

Old Curse of Dreadbear Plugin

An older version of the Curse of Dreadbear plugin can be found in the August 24, 2019 and September 14, 2019 patches, both of which predate the announcement of the DLC. The plugin doesn't contain any assets, but it does have a different name and description.

Full Time Edition (PS5)

Released on November 21, 2023, this version is essentially a Remaster for the game, including improved lighting, textures and more; but because it's a Steel Wool game, it broke just as much as it fixed.

Improvements

General

  • Overall, the game got a sleek coat of paint with lighting; some minigames look better, some look worse.
  • Buttons have smaller labels.
  • Various lightbulbs now flicker, such as the one behind the doorway on the right of the Pizzeria Hub and the one to the right of the FNaF 3 office's Freddy Fazbear mannequin.

Pizzeria Hub

  • The Flat mode post processing is now also used in VR.

FNaF 3

  • The grid on the office's window is now bigger.

Fixed Bugs

  • The Remaster fixed the VR Subtitle being seen out of view during the Title Screen when playing the game in Flat mode.

New Bugs

General

  • Instead of turning into Neon Chica, Chica's suit turns completely white during her nightmare mode jumpscare. This combined with the lighting in the Repair Chica level makes her look green.

Pizzeria Hub

  • The ambience is gone.

Parts and Service

  • Repair Freddy's background props aren't hidden during nightmare mode.
  • Dark Freddy and Neon Bonnie use Freddy Fazbear and Bonnie's regular suit materials instead of their own materials.
