This is a sub-page of Forza Horizon 5.

There are over 500 cars in Forza Horizon 5 that are available to players, but there is also a lot of unused content relating to cars not yet (or potentially never) obtainable. There exists a few cars that have unused textures, thumbnails and data hidden in the game files.

Missing Stellantis Group Brands

As soon as the Horizon 5 car list was fully revealed, four brands were missing from the game, since day 1. The missing brands include Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Abarth and Lancia. Remnants of these cars in the FH5 files mostly include texture files and thumbnail files. As of July 18, 2023, it has been since confirmed that Fiat, Lancia, Abarth and Alfa Romeo would come on Series 24. Despite Series 24's release, there are still some cars that are either left unused, or not added to Forza Horizon 5.

Here were what were left over in FH5's files from the Stellantis Brands(thumbnails can be seen in the Youtube video source in the Unused Thumbnails section). :

Unused Thumbnails

One of the first few leaks for this game were that of unused thumbnails that were spotted in what used to be Ui/Textures/Thumbnails.zip. Eventually, the file location of these thumbnails changed in a way that stored them based on their update release. Thumbnails for every car in Forza Horizon 4 are discovered, as well as some Forza Motorsport 7/Horizon 3 leftovers.

The majority of Series 2 and 3 cars were leaked from this, but there are some interesting, unused thumbnails that could potentially hint some cars arriving to Forza Horizon 5 in future updates. These include:

  • 2010 Porsche Boxster S (987.2)

  • 2010 Audi R8 5.2 FSI Quattro (Type 42)

  • 1995 Honda CRX Del Sol SiR

  • 2017 Subaru CrossTrek Desert Racer

Unused Wheel Textures

It has been found that several textures for wheels and badges alike have been found in media/cars/_library/textures.zip, specifically in the ao_wheels folder and libraryao/wheels. These textures include almost all of the previously leaked cars from Forza Horizon 4, as well as several new textures for cars that are new to the franchise and leftovers from past Forza games. It is unknown if these cars would come to either Forza Horizon 5 in the future, or are in preparation for the new Forza Motorsport reboot.

Cars hidden in data files

New cars have been discovered in the data files by some users from GTPlanet. One recent discovery by user TGR55 on GTPlanet revealed a vehicles.txt file, which may have something to do with headlights based on the variables. No texture files exist for these cars. These cars in question include:

Suspension Files

A deleted file called AAA_SuspensionStructure.xlsx was used by Forza's developers to research and possibly program suspensions. A lot of unused cars exist, complete with ID numbers under the RESEARCH_CAR tab. The suspension file was discovered on GTPlanet as early as March 4, 2022. Unfortunately, the file got deleted in the April 2022 update.

Not much else is known, other than the fact that several new-to-Forza cars, possibly intended for both Motorsport and Horizon games to feature in the future.

Mercedes-AMG ONE Forza Edition

Used primarily in the XBOX & Bethesda E3 Showcase, during the Forza Horizon 5 reveal, as well as being seen in Horizon Promo, but is unplayable. Currently, it does not include the livery shown in the trailer, and it has no skill perk like the other Forza Edition cars. The default tune has more PI than the regular car, but it performs slightly worse overall.

Barn Finds

Recently, there have been unused video files, showing the sign language interpretation of dialogue in the game. From these files, three additional barn finds were discovered. The barn finds in question include:

List_PartManufacturers

A string file called List_PartManufacturers, located at media/stripped/stringtables/EN.zip was discovered on March 8, 2023. This text file, based from the filename may have listed information containing brands that have customizable parts on existing or new cars. Several car brands that were mentioned in this file appear to be never seen in Forza Horizon 5, although Ginetta is confirmed to appear in Forza Motorsport, with the G60 LT-P1. These aforementioned brands include:
