Removed Debugging Menu
Enter the pause menu with these Gens/GS cheat codes to enable a new item, "Debug", at the bottom of the menu:
- Japan: 00B5FC:0005 00B622:0005
- US: 00B9F8:0006 00BA32:0006
The first code displays the item; the second code allows you to select it.
Unfortunately, attempting to select these Debug options in both versions of the game results in the game jumping to address $0 and crashing. It is very likely that, given how the code is structured in ROM (or at least the US ROM), the debugging code has been removed entirely.

Regional Differences
The US version adds an option to turn the sound off to the pause menu. Why it isn't present in the Japanese version is unknown.
