Sound Test

In the Japanese version, enter STSTST as a password.

Hmmm...
To do:
See if this exists in the US version.

Anti-Piracy

After choosing any option on the title screen, the game will attempt to write to SRAM address $701000 and if the write is successful, the game restarts, preventing the player from actually being able to start a game. An original cartridge does not contain any SRAM, but a cartridge copier contains large amounts of SRAM in order to support a wide variety of games, which trips the anti-piracy measure.

This check is only implemented in the American version of the game; the Japanese version of this game does not have this check.

Regional Differences

Hmmm...
To do:
Are there any differences in the actual gameplay?

Title Screen

Exclusive to the Japanese version is this additional copyright notice, which fades in as it scrolls up, briefly pauses, and then fades out while scrolling up.

The American version simply moves this copyright notice to the title screen, and does not start off with the options immediately. It will eventually appear if the player presses a button or after idling for a while.

Region Error

Attempting to play the game on a PAL console causes the game to lock up on this screen after the copyright notice in the Japanese version or the Jaleco logo on the American version. There are minor font differences between regions. The Japanese version still has a bit of the blue palette from the copyright notice screen carried over to here, which is obviously not there in the American version.
